1988 ford 7.3 IDI sluggish up hills

That would be Motorcraft glow plugs made in Beru (believe Germany). Otherwise don't try to cheap out with other brands, they don't last, swell and can break off inside the cylinder when being removed. Oilburners.net will get you a good running engine but they don't push the limits. Ford.com...

    shop recomendation for OBS PSD

Being that it's TTB, check the pivot mount bracket for the pass. side, this bracket has a tendency to break out. Ford still sells the part.

Diesel guru's, school us on buying a diesel

If you want to learn about the 7.3 IDI: http://www.oilburners.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=34 this site probably has the most info for the old Fords. http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum117/ If you get an IDI, find one with a turbo on it already (aftermark or stock), it will save you...

    Ford Diesel (pre-powerstroke)

Forgot to add, check the front spring bushing and panard bushing very well. These truck can get a bad case of death wobble if the bushings aren't tight.

    Mufflers and Cats

If you go flowmaster, get the 70 or 80 series. I had a 40 on a ZJ with no cat, sounded OK but resonated badly at 30-35 and was a little hard to hear the back seat at hi-way speeds. We did run a Dynomax muffler on the racecar, 2.3L Ford, looked like a glorified glasspack, but did like the sound.

lets talk about auto transmissions for wheeling

Not sure if anyone has mentioned it BUT, if you are going to run the TH350 and you have an extra TH700r4, you can swap the low gears out. This swap would drop first gear from ~2.52(about there) to a 3.06, (basically the 1st and 2nd gear ratios out of a 700).

Along with the title and bill of sale, they will want a weight if not in the computer. The other thing is they will charge you tax, this will come off there computer and is probably WAY off. Make sure to bring a blue book (of any type) print off to prove it's worth less than 3K. If less than...
