Not a chance in hell! Just another income and time hiccup. Organic Chemistry, Cellular/Molecular Biology and DD vehicles have been eating up my time. I got a '98 forester now though, and I'm trying to get rid of my S10 pickup and lil' roo to pay off the debt for the new computers for school...

    Elwha River backpacking trip

it was moving a lot slower, and the water level was several feet lower than when I was there last year in early july... but even with run off last year it was just about as clear. I'm going to get a packable fly fishing rod and head back this summer.

Point Defiance Park, a short hike and some gear testing.

Nothing epic but my first training hike of the season with some gear testing for my up and coming hike to the Elwha River trail in the Olympics. I took my fully loaded pack with all my solo backpacking gear. I was also out there testing my new stickpic i got for my birthday along with my new BPL...

anyone deal with davez offroad performance parts?

now i just have to decide whether to go with dave's disc brakes or sky mfg's disc brake kit. both comparable prices but sky's uses modified gm stuff, while daves uses??

i know which one your thinking of, i'd take a bike or quad up it. but i've been riding steep loose climbs from glamis to cinder hills for years. $100 hill at cinders is 800ft up and about as steep or steeper as the hill you are talking, except it's ash and loose cinders. the other trail peaked...

no, not the one that is right after the no bikes sign. A dirtbike can take a lot steeper climbs than a 4x4 in loose dirt... there's a rock pile, then to the right of the rockpile and no motorcycle sign is the bypass trail and looking further right beyond that, with no direct junction from that...

a little more progress today, finished painting the hubs, then cleaning the overspray... Then I setup the Aussielocker, which was an interesting task in itself, not hard but i used 2 different carriers and was getting the same out of tolerance measurement for the spacers... Called the US dealer...

    Pacific Crest Trail (Epic Hikes)

I presently use midweight polypro baselayers at the moment. can't remember the brand, I bought them in 2004 while I was in iraq... i'm looking into either BPL merino wool layers or icebreakers to save some weight to thermal efficency and wool doesn't stink as bad as synthetics. presently i'm...

    Pacific Crest Trail (Epic Hikes)

it's generally great for early season hiking, since it stays fairly snow free and is at low elevation. which camp did you guys camp at?

I'll have a full spare rear after i get some V6 gears and locker for my other third (not hihg on my priority list). I have a set of axles w/drums and a couple narrow axle housings. they've been sitting outside for awhile though.

    Pacific Crest Trail (Epic Hikes)

I eat hearty on the trails, 3 cheese caseroles, spaghetti and meatballs, and tons of other yummy and filling meals that i dehydrate at home. without filling food, i'm a jerk to be around, so i carry food, otherwise i won't enjoy my wilderness experience as much. The weekend after easter we'll...

    Pacific Crest Trail (Epic Hikes)

backpackinglight.com is an awesome wealth of lightweight information. I've been on there since 2004. Less weight that is properly achieved and not just throwing everything out, will not leave you to die of exposure and starvation. Now SUL packing weights in inclement weather i could see causing...

I've been too busy with school, lack of funds, lack of time and such. I've had a pile of parts, but no time... Spring break is through this weekend. So I'll be trying to get the rear axle done except the truss and diff protection that i still need to get from Blue Torch Fab and then the next...

    Pacific Crest Trail (Epic Hikes)

I've done bits and pieces of it, but I am planning on doing a section J hike this august (snoqualmie to stevens pass ~75 miles). One day after i'm done with college i'd love to take 4 to 5 months and do the whole trail. You lighten up your pack yet? here's some motivation for you. Walking the...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well, I'm finally getting some wrench time while I'm on spring break. I'm presently rebuilding the rear end. Removed the old shafts, which in the process of maxing out my 20 ton press and having to tap on the shaft...

all i can say is great job guys! we rode the quads out that way and walked in to take a look. definatly not the same, several hill climbs and one set of rocks that are fairly sunk in now! also noticed another trail looking to the right of the no motorcycle sign in the hill. is that come from...
