Plowboy Rebuild - KOH Prep 2015

Any chance ya'll could weigh the finished axles, or have a good guess on what they weigh? I'm just curious to seeing what a built, retubed and trussed front 14 bolt with 2.5 ton outers compares to a stock front rockwell.

    TH350-Ford NP205 Shifters??

right on, I remember reading Patooeye's write up years ago on this setup. I followed that shaving the top thread, but got lazy when I put my 205 in and cut off the rear shifter, locking it in low as it is a trailer queen and I kept the 4.10's in the axles so a 1.96:1 perma low isn't all that bad...

    TH350-Ford NP205 Shifters??

How are you going to access the rear shift rail as it is within the round 6 mounting pattern? Notch the adapter and clocking ring? And also what are you using to couple the 27sp output to the 31sp input?

What to do in Asheville, NC and Knoxville, TN?

If your route takes you by, Hot Springs NC is a cool little mountain town as well. I took a zero day there when on the AT and loved it! Alot of day rafting trips or lazy beer drinking tube rides down the french broad river, relaxing in the hot springs tubs, couple cool little bars, cheap...

Higher mile lq4, rebuild it or run it?

X100 My 5.3 daily developed either a wrist pin slap or a super pissed off lifter at about 180K and I said I was gonna run it till it blows, mainly because a whole new motor is 500-1000 bucks. 40K miles later it's still ticking right along. There damn tough motors!

My Low Pinion reAlly a puss?

Casey, ive seen you wheel, you could rock 66" tractor tires and not have to worry about breaking anything on the bypass lines you love so much... hahahaha :flipgotcha: All kidding aside I would look for a set of Treps if I were you, they seen to have the right balance of stickiness, tread depth...

Old vs new style Ouverson Super 8 hubs

Hmmm, I wonder if, when making the external drive flanges to bolt onto the sterling hub you could just make them that "few inches" thick of a mounting flange to bridge the gap of a longer spindle than hub? maby too :afro: and stick out way too far, but im curious now..
