How usable would high range be with stock 4.3 on pane, th400, 5.38 axle, and 44" tires?

Not really asking about strength of gears. My buggy only has a 4.3 v6 in it and 44" tires. The comment that I was referring to said that it was his personal experience that gearing the axle low made the vehicle feel more peppy than gearing the t case low to achieve the same final gear reduction...

I was reading in a thread once on here and I can't find it again. Someone made a comment that the same final ratio, if done through the axles instead of the t case, that it will always feel more powerful that way. Just curious if anyone else has felt this. Also, what the theory is behind it? I...

I think that has alot more going on than I was planning. I was thinking stock with cam and higher compression. Or stock with small turbo and cam. But that thing is badass. Let's see some videos when it's of it roasting some tires.

Lol. I'm trying to decide between turbo or bumping the compression. I was just curious if anyone had done that. Not trying to get to 300. Just the most I can for the least. Just like everyone else. ;)

Any ideas on what kind of power my 4.3 on pane with an ohg450 would make if I bumped compression up to 12:1.
