    Torque vs. Horsepower

what's the tire diameter? The NET FORCE required to accelerate the vehicle is 455.95 lb. Torque is F x r. Multiply this by the radius of the tire and that will give you the required torque at the wheel.

    Torque vs. Horsepower

Fixed Newton's Laws 1. In the absence of a net force, the center of mass of a body either is at rest or moves at a constant velocity. 2. A body experiencing a force F experiences an acceleration a related to F by F = ma, where m is the mass of the body. Alternatively, force is equal to the...

    Torque vs. Horsepower

Usable power range. Diesels produce more torque at lower speeds, gearing doesn't have to be too steep in order to pull. Gas engines produce less torque but can operate at high speeds. More gearing is required to get the same torque as a diesel. Higher RPMs means more piston strokes = more...

    Torque vs. Horsepower

The acceleration of your moving element is a result of your net force or torque. If you are creating torque but not moving, then what ever is preventing you to move "has an equal but opposite force". Its just like pushing on a brick wall. Push all day with as much force as you can, if the wall...

    Torque vs. Horsepower

they have short legs so i assume they can not run fast. Assuming they can produce the same power as us they would produce more torque than you or I (as long as you are not an uber-midget) . :flipoff: this rolls into the force equation. Binder's example would account for these. If you took...

    Torque vs. Horsepower

I disagree. Torque is directly related to acceleration. It may not tell you your maximum torque available, but at least what was used. HP is important because you need to carry a usable amount of torque across a wide operating speed. When you talk about calculating HP with weight and...

    Torque vs. Horsepower

Motor characteristics differ from motor to motor (gas or electric). Power is a function of torque and motor speed. The power rating of a motor is defined as at a specific RPM. Just because you are running your 300HP motor at 5RPM you are not necessarily getting more torque at 500RPM. This is...

    Tow rig help

I have been towing my rig with an 1/2 ton for a while now. For fairly flat tips it isn't too bad but would be really nervous to be taking it over a pass or any really long distances. I got an F-150 primarily because it was my DD and still needed to be able to get around town, deal with parking...

    T-MAX winch

the tmax controller sucked for a while. Our club back in college got special pricing on the winches but had a few controllers fail on us. I think they have fixed this problem. I have yet to have any serious issues with mine.

My Life is Hell thanks to USA 6x6

I had the same experience with USA6x6. Worst part about it is now that I have my wheels, I really don't think that they have that great of a product.

    Suspension Seats

what is everyone's feeling on all vinyl seats vs. cloth. I would assume vinyl would hold up better, but being offroad seats i would think that the fabrics used would be somewhat weather resistant if you went with some kind of cloth.
