1979 ford bronco engine

Hey guys I got a pretty nice Full Size bronco that the 351m has gotten very wore. These were not the best engines. From what I understand it has a big block patern that hooks up to the c6. Question is which engine would be ideal? I have thought 460 or 427 or cleveland. Even had wild thoughts of a 12 valve or ls 6.0 but thought it would be best to not make it a mutt.

370 351m 400 429 460 and 514 are compatible. They are the large 6 bolt.

I'd go back with a Windsor ....

If I had to choose from what you listed it'd be a 460.

The 460 might be what I go with. I know we're a low mileage late 70's Lincoln is with a good 460. I could rob the engine and crush the car. The truck has 4:10 gears and 35's would it be crazy to hope for 10mpg?

You would have to swap transmissions.

Small block C6 transmissions aren't rare or even a AOD. Had my C6 built with AOD parts for a better crawl ratio.
