I have a 89 4x4 truck came from the factory as a 22re, later someone installed a factory turbo set up, guy i bought it from claims he drove it as a dd an four wheeled it once a brought it home pressue washed it came bac few days later it ran ruff at first then died, from then on it would start right up (running smooth) run for 3-5 seconds an die an will do so over & over.
( this is how i bought it for $800), needing some help on dignosing the issue

things ive tried:
-holding flap in air box open with fingers
-crossing fuel pump +b -fp
-checked fuel lines from pump (pumping gas)
-different air box lid

oil pressure switch telling the computer no oil pressure, kill engine? I have heard of crank sensors on jeeps doin this.
map senser hooked up? or a air leak betweem Mass air and intake on turbo? with computers so many things can cuse this. A friend even had a loose wire on fuel pump in tank , does it keep fuel pressure on fuel rail?

If you are getting fuel, next item is spark

Can you hear the fuel pump running when you jumper it (or hold the AFM flap open)?

It has an aftermarket oil psi gauge an it holds good psi i will check into the switch , its getting fire, i will take disturtor cap off an clean/ dry it, i will look into the sensors as well, an dont have a way to check fuel psi will look into barrowing one.

GONOVRIT: where did you find a ecm for a turbo ??
