the stumjumpers motorcycle club has their annual 24hrs@ reiter race july 18-19th just got a email from cyclebarn about it. just thought i would pass this along.

Thanks for the head up. I am shocked they are doing it--was under the impression all permits were being pulled for any events up there...

Been that way for many years.. I could really care less if they do or don't get the ok to do it. Arguing over these things just drives the seperation between user groups.

Who's arguing? Iam just making my normal smart ass remarks...:redneck:

but I do agree with ya about seperation..that wont work in our favor...

yeah it sucks they use it all night(we cant). but they have been doing this for years, and do get all the permits, and follow all the rules. it is kinda a fun event..
wouldnt it be cool to have a 24hr wheelin event at reiter, and not just cause you broke your rig in the trail :awesomework:
also take in fact that these motorcycle clubs have been around for awhile, and they seem to be pretty united in what they want.. im not trying to stir anything up,but they all have common ground. they have regular meetings, and big shops like cyclebarn, and motoplex backing them... would be nice if we had more of a commercialised hobby with big name shops to help support our efforts.(4wheel parts dos not count). back on topic
just wanted to let users know it will be busy up there that weekend, and sharing this area is gonna be what keeps it open for all of us. i dont know exactly what area they have the race especially with things changing up there, but im sure some area will be closed off..

Sure would be cool...but to have a more commercialized sport, we would need challenging trails..:eeek:

We did... but they are now closed:booo:

im sure that this was okd long before the closures came up, do to the fact that it has been going on for so long, and im sure they applied last year for this event. you know its best to register early for anything.
also like i stated they have some good backing, and that helps.

i know look at what happened to walker. i live next to it,and i hear stories all the time, and can see some of the old trail system. it does suck. i also believe that dnr does try but they also have there hands tied.
