I've got a truck at work that has me going. It's overcharging. Tried a couple alternators and regulators. Currently has the high end Napa parts on it. I've checked my grounds and they good. I have the engine ground to block, block to body. Then off the block to the regulator. Even unhooked the battery cables and ran the truck off a jump box thinking the battery might have a dead cell.
No luck. If I unplug the regulator it sits at battery voltage running. Any ideas?

Amp gauges do that in Jeeps too. I was also going to say to check the 4 wire plug on the regulator. 1 of the 2 middle wires burns off from corrosion and causes the alt to full field till it burns out or the regulator does.
