Emirates has said they want the planes on time and wont except them late like the 787 was. The union seems to think this means they want them built in WA. Wrong. That means they want them on time. That's all. Many airlines have made it clear that it is the fact that they are built in the USA that makes the planes great. Boeing will stay in the USA but, they wont stay in WA.

That Seattle city council nut case is an example of what Seattle is becoming. Full retard. What fell out of that cows mouth at the rally was mind numbing. The fact that the union tools were still cheering her on says a lot about the union mentality. :looser:

When I heard about this deal I instantly thought of Hostess, it went out of business because the bakers union refused to give an inch, and they all lost their jobs. If Boeing wants to move to South Carolina to deal with a better work force then that is their decision. If I were a machinist, I would make whatever deal that I could, unless I wanted to move across the country for half the pay....just sayin!

People are claiming that Boeing will make another offer Monday morning. Then there are those who saw Boeing tell the state that they would not talk to the union until the contract is up in 2016.

Missouri is pushing hard. I totally forgot about the fact that outside of the PNW they have the largest Boeing workforce.

They are asking no questions in the Senate and House about passing a $1.7 Billion package for Boeing.

Boeing asked the State to give tax concessions.
The State approved ALL the concessions Boeing asked for.
Boeing asked the Union to give benefit concessions.
The Union declined.

Then Boeing took Washington's tax breaks, and went State shopping, to make sure all the other States would give the same, or better, tax breaks.

This is NOT the State's fault. The Gov'nr & Legislature actually came thru for once.

A more true statement has never been made. The union told Boeing to move out by voting no. People around here still think Boeing will make another offer that is better in the first quarter of 2014. I don't think it will happen. For that reason I have made the call to relocate and leave it all behind next summer. No more Boeing, and no more IAM dip****s.

I don't believe it's even about the money (in tax breaks). In 2016, the union will go on strike. Doesn't matter what Boeing offers, the union workers will feel they have Boeing bent over a barrel because the customers will not accept delays.

Our union Rep was telling us in damn near a scream to vote no. Even lied about a number of the changes. Many didn't read what was offered, many didn't understand it. So all they have is word of mouth. I'm not saying Boeing handled this well. Both sides made big mistakes. One big thing that bugs me now is that Boeing said they had a plan B. They didn't. Opening it up to other states isn't a plan. Having something lined up is a plan. So now it's just another waiting game.

However, its is the union's management that is responsible for presenting these such things to their voters, and as such usually take a stand one way or another and bias the information as such. The vast majority of voters (weather it be union members or general voting public) is vastly ignorant on the issues they vote for and have to rely on other sources to make their opinion. I know with the union I deal with I have seen blatant lies laid before the membership to sway opinions..... and the membership (as a general whole) eats it up because they don't know better or are, for lack of a better term, brainwashed into thinking "management evil, union do no wrong".

Maybe someone could actually put facts into this thread. Most are listening to the media then the facts anyway.
Someone can take the time and read our current contract, read the proposed contract and then post quotes from it in here. Otherwise the thread is all speculation. Blame whoever, boeing knew the outcome of the vote before the presented it.

Were did boeing come out and show the New prices of the planes compared to current prices?
Why not offer cuts to Speea, salaray and management all at the same time. Just put it all on the labor union to take the cuts. Not many have worked for a union, and it has it ups and downs. Only reason to work there is for the pay and benefits, take that away and Id hate to see who stays to build the airplanes.
