Its borderline offensive, your reply is nearly one of a polatician. and also stating that we all pissed all over hsi flowery thread with drama is BS too, aparently you missed his HUGE streak of sarcasm in the opening statement. I saw this coming about as a huge discussion as soon as I read it, its a very debatable topic, and rightly so, and theres absolutely nothing wrong with that, I think people have been very nice in it.

The responsibility needs to be full circle
Wrong, the responsability lays 100% ANY animals owner and those who dare come on the animals property. outside of a leash and property the general public should be safe, period. Thats like that gay ass Kathy Lee Gifford singing " It takes a village to raise a child" .. No it takes a responsible parent.

The responsibility needs to be full circle not just breeders, but owners, and general public from an education perspective. Education helps everyone prepare and plan better -
again, that reply is, well, ignorant. that says that it is the general publics problem to be educated, trained, and prepared for pit bulls and thier attacks. Bull crap! In general your saying people who dont own them need to to be educated and prepared to avoid being mutilated to walk throught thier neighborhood? Or my 3 kids need to do all that to walk to thier friends house down the road?

That is making the problem the responsability of the non-owners. why? why is it my problem? Sorry Ann but I call BS. if it isnt mine, Im not responsible. if my dog attacks someone in thier yard or the street its my responsability not the general publics for not being educated.

andf i say all this as to any breed, not just pits.

For anybody who has had a child bitten by a dog. The worst feeling in the absolute world is holding your child, blood all over the both of us and his words "daddy, am I going to die"

I don't care what kinda dog it is--a dog bites..

And for the record kyle did not provoke the animal--he was playing next to it.....

HMM........So then I don't need to tell my little girl "Don't talk to strangers, or get into cars" since it's the parents of Molesters responsiblility to control there molesting child.

Fact is it's 100% the dog owners fault, but we still need to educate OUR children.

Your comparison is assanine  bottom line, dogs owners are responsible, and nobody else is for them, its thier job to control them, like controlling your kids is your job.

Careful. There's a huge difference between control and train. Ever notice how every one of these attacking dogs has been kept outside in a cage or on a chain and is not really a part of the family, but merely a convenient "pet"? Ever notice that there has always been warning signs in the dog's behavior WELL BEFORE an attack (I'm talking months/years here, not minutes or even days) that the owner denies or doesn't recognize as a problem? Not to mention the ones that are tormented and humiliated by their owners.

I'm getting confused, there's so many damn contradictions by people.
Now you know how the dogs feel. They're pack animals, as are we. Treat them as if they were human and part of the family and they are happy, treat them like a possession and they can have psychotic tendancies much like that kid who was picked on one too many times at school.

Most people don't have a ****ing clue what they're doing when it comes to dogs.

althought not my point but still a very good one ...

A kid who is "controlled" can become just as psychotic. That was my take, er... spin, on your point.

**** the contradictions continue...... were you not just telling us about your freinds pits that were SO great (slept on bed, loved daily)that attacked there kids out of no where.

Yes. just like ignored kids tend to have/get into more problems.

Use a dog what is was breed for. let the herd dogs herd, working dogs work, hunting dogs hunt ect.....

I have a 12 pound weiner and he burrows in around and under everything looking for toys he hides all over. he thinks he is getting the toy out of the hole he was breed to do.

Dammit... I guess i'd better go shoot my Ram.. it'll do more damage then a kia :booo: It definitely wasn't the drivers fault that the truck got in a wreck.

Is your Ram capable of starting itself and chasing down Kias and small children and killing them of it's own free accord?

Our society has also said that at a certain point trucks are present dangers and operating difficulties that average autombiles do not and have placed restrictions on the operation of them. Why should owning excessively dangerous animals be any different?

you are right... any dog over 30lbs could do that to a child so they all should be put down. then we can ban people from owning any other "dangerous" animals. next lets take away guns, becasue i know somebody's child had a bad experience with one before... oh, i guess cars should be next since kids have been hit by them in the past. dont forget about harmfull chemicals or medications that kids have gotten into before ban them too... even toys, lets take them away along with coins because kids have choked on them.

WHatever, I give up.

I will continue to bring my "Golden" over to my buddy's to play with his 3 "pits". I sure hope they don't rub off on her!:D

This is not always the case. The one that attacked Kyle was a family baby. This was thier baby cause they didn't have kids. He had never bitten anyone before and this was apparently the only time he had ever acted aggressively.

That's exactly what they always say. Either they're lying or ignorant. Dogs don't just snap, there are causes and warning signs.

Or we could just impose a few reasonable restriction on the ownership of the ones that have already proven themselves to be the most dangerous. Don't want to be a responsible owner and liable for your pet? Then don't own a pit bull.

Unlike dogs, all are inanimate objects incapable of acting on their own. And not only that, but ownership and use of most of those you named are aleady, are you ready for this, drum roll please, REGULATED. Thank you. :clappy:

I would hope that they don't viciously maul and kill her. Or do those loving, noble pits only do that to small, helpless children?

Was the dog put down? I would have done it myself.

It later was from what I was told--was put into a fenced area and never let out till the owners decided it could not be trusted.
