I've been talking about this a bit with my inlaw's. A friend of Amber's family has been running FTA for about 6 months and Im very interested in going this route. Just wondered if anyone has researched or ran this around here ?

I'd like to go full monty if Im going to do it, get a reciever with DVR capabilities and all that crap that I've never had laughing1 Been googling and lookin at stuff but I really have no idea what Im looking at since I dont know anyone using FTA . :dunno:

My aunt has it. And my step dad had it. He started feeling guilty I guess and stopped using it. Dumbass..... My aunt loves hers and you get every channel Dish offers and a few other satelites as well. Well over 1,000 channels. All the paperview is free and porn of course. You can block the channels on the reciever by hooking it up to your computer and making a play list. Also that is how you change the codes as the old one gets cracked. I was told dish networks programmer sales the program to FTA and thats how this keeps working. Who knows when they will figure out how to get rid of it.
But it is legal. If it is in the air and not hooked to anything anyone can receive the signal. I have almost thought about going to it myself. And I believe they have HD receivers now.

Im in on it, its free and thats P ! laughing1

I just want to make sure I purchase a quality reciever and hardware basically... :dunno:

Some guys I deer hunt with use the Pansat FTA. They have had good luck with it. I have been looking at it myself. That $111 dish network bill each month gets old.

Yea thats plan silly to me... hell we RARELY watch TV at our house as it is since Hailey is always involved in like 3 things and Amber works random hours. I figured for 300-400 dollars worth of hardware and thats the end of the $$ spending , I'd consider that. Dont know that it would change our TV watching habit's but at least I wouldnt feel bad about paying a payment for something we never use every month. laughing1

Never heard of this before. When I moved into my house I could not get dish. I live in a valley and house faces north, so no good signal south. I have TALL trees in the back yard.

I get free internet since neighbors do no secure theirs and my cable bill is ~80/mo for DVR and no movie channels.

I am diggin' the free antenna signal shiat we got going on.. I ditched cable and internet since I was footing the over $100 a month.. for TV I never watch and internet which I seldom use...

I snake internet from the neighbor's wireless signal and use the digital converter box on my TV... Ion Life is the channel where it's at.. .My favorite show is "Get Out" which reruns the same 3 shows all the time but hot chicks in bikini's travelling to exotic locations and doing cool stuff like bungee jumping is daaaaaaa ****! :dblthumb: never gets old.

Have a couple coolsat boxes[ newer 6100 model and an older 4000] had to program pretty regular and the site we were getting the program from ended up in a lawsuit and was taken off line. Have not used them in about 6 months, was concearned about finding a trusted site. If anyone has a site that there currently getting the program from I would like to know, as far as cost, the 6100 box it was about 100 bucks[ had to buy a $10 flashdrive and round up 3 dishes] definetly enjoyed being able to watch the latest movies especially when compared to 5 bucks at the movie store. I would say get one as long as you can download a program.

I had it in college It was great while it worked, all the channels was .But It got to be so much work that we just ended up buying cable in the end. That was years ago though, now I really don't watch TV ,so I am out of the modern loop it may be easier to keep updated.

Man there's a flood of info on line, the problem is I dont have any idea what Im lookin at or whats truth or interweb BS> laughing1

Im decipher alot of info thrown at me on PBB about the matter, tons of links and discussion way over my head. I guess the biggest thing seems to be having a good source for update's or "keys" so you can keep up when they re-scramble there ****...

I would wait right now P because they are changin a bunch of **** right now and you cant get all the channels but as soon as they get everything fixed its damn sure worth it. The HD version is a lot better but i would wait for now thumb.gif
