BTF "Behemoth" Flexjoints: 4.5" joints

We made these for a project in the shop... BTF's "Behemoth" 4.5" OD flexjoint, maybe they'll hold up. Pictured next to an 1.25" rod end.

Man I'd have to agree, I bet the joint will outlast the thru-bolt. LOL

Like to see a one inch bolt myself...

Was able to sneak a couple pics for you guys. We are building a Mine car. From what we've been told miners drive these things WOT and slam into stuff. WOT is only 15mph however there is a LOT of torque.

I have a college buddy in PA that is a mine foreman now and mainly stays above ground these days because of surviving a collapse.
They regularly have cave-ins and its the rigs that save their lives by one not collapsing, and two taking the brunt of the hit.
He lost some toes and spent a lot of time in the hospital when he had his drill get collapsed on. To hear him tell stories is crazy. But he said they'll see the roof start to flake on them, then you'll hear the more or less shingling of the roof and by then you better be in a rig and in reverse. We was running the forward drill on his accident, and the roof went to flaking so he grabbed reverse and went all back full. Slammed his machine into two others pushing them back up the shaft as the ceiling came down on his machine trapping him inside. He said he was hurt but he kept it peeling out and drove out of the stack.
I may be wrong but I swear he told me the machine was 50 or so feet long.

Another story he told me was in PA for the last 100+ years of mining, people will mine past their property line. So if 50 years ago your neighbors property got mined 10 feet past the line then filled full of water the past 50 years. Then you go to harvest into what you think is 10 feet from where you have to stop and you pook a hole, you better we moving as that other mine could fill yours up. He said thats usually how these guys end up getting trapped.
