Cherokee Transmision

hey there! had a quick question! i am gonna trade my streetbike possibly for a Jeep Cherokee. i see a whole lot of them are Auto. ive never owned a auto, always a 5spd and 4spd in the FJ60. just wondering what to expect off road with the automatic. and how reliable are the cherokee autos? noticable gas milage difference? anything else i might want to know about em

Assuming your are talking about '87 and newer, it has an AW4 auto transmission, which is about the most reliable auto trans. I've ever encountered.

It is a very capable transmission....most likely the "frame" with break before that transmission. Go cherocar.
