Yes. They used to do a youtube series

To me he was annoying....I almost was like where's Tripp at lol. I don't mind the commentating , just wish they didn't do it during the runs.

I would like to just say this is my OPINION, and just some constructive criticism.

I did watch the whole thing...and i enjoy the idea...and i think most people understand having technical issues, but it seems Bree and "Dan" didn't really flow well together.

To me, something that makes a watching events like this better, is when the contaminators can talk about whats going on more like a conversation.
It seemed like "Dan" kept trying to talk over Bree, which was annoying. You don't have to keep plugging you name to try to be the cool kid in the room either. I get doing it a few times because of people tuning in but not every time someone ran.

And if you are going to talk about something like this, you might want to get a "cheat" sheet so you can know something about the drivers and there RIG.
Maybe even consider calling the drivers rig by the name the driver has named it.... I bet the phrase "GET BACK" was used 20 times....Tim Cameron did JUST build that rig for this season, kinda hard to mess that up.
A focus on more accurate FACTS is a great place to start, and not just about what someone has named the buggy....Maybe talk to the drivers before the event to get an idea of something they may have changed for the race or how there prep for this weeks event has went, if they broke something the week before ECT....maybe a way for some of the commentary to be more personal to the viewer. Just a thought.

When i watched the KOH Live of the Shootout i heard enough of "Dan" when he informed the crowd the was a YANKEE transplant to TN.....(no offence to other wheelers around the country), to me this sport has strong roots in Southern Wheeling Culture and it would be great to have some commentators that reflect those values.

How about getting Two Southerners that Know this Sport and the racers to accurately contaminate on the events. And i am sure there are dozens of folks out there that know the sport inside and out that could do that.

And i am NOT talking about handing those duties over to someone that is DRUNK. I think that was tried in the past at a different venue.

If only I could be a commentator, Camera Man, and Racer all at the same time. :dunno:

They printed hero cards for everyone. Mine came in and said Show Out instead of Show Off. So I feel Timmie's pain with people not being able to get a name right. Maybe they should pay Burkey to be announcer until his new buggy is finished? Something we are going to try is have me setup with a Headset so I can chime in on what is broken and maybe a little about the buggies before each run to where the announcers can hear it and relay the info. I can also give a play by play on the spot when carnage happens that way.

Having someone like You and Burkey doing the commentary would be great, Burkey has a great personality and KNOWS what is going on.

A move in that direction would be a good start, something like this needs some Personality.

Also, Burkey does great at explaining things and the Rock Rod Tech videos prove that....you don't have to get super elaborate for people to get it, if you know how to explain things on a common since level, which he can do.

Looking forward to the next one.

Man ftoy I suck at writing how I feel and you wrote about how I felt. I got tired of him talking over her. I'm bad about it on the phone because of pauses, maybe something like that was happening. Seriously though I'm not complaining cause I got to watch a live event on my phone. I appreciate the hard work that went into it. I'm sure the above suggestions will come in time. Just if there where a tv channel that would come in and film real stuff instead of made up "street" racing...........

I think you've got a great concept. But I agree with what's been said.

Burkey would be excellent, but I think you'd need someone more long term. Nothing against Tripp, he's a good dude. But I dunno that I could handle more then about twenty minutes of that. Know Dat.
Maybe Bobby Tanner will retire and can start announcing like Peyton Manning. Haha I honestly think that Dave and Bree will click more as time goes on. The first run is always a little bumpy.

I saw on YouTube where a few people suggested focusing more audio on screaming motors during the runs instead of commentating. Obviously if something crazy is happening, I don't have a problem with some commentating. But, to most of us po folk it's like engine porn.

Also I think it happened once or twice, but I know It did happen a lot at KOH/shootout. Screaming into the mic when a flop or something happens. I totally understand getting wrapped up into it, but there's nothing worse than having your speakers/ear drums blown out randomly.

Overall, I dig it tho and love the direction all the important people are pushing this sport.

I think it was in the right direction. My only complaint was it seemed they were constantly looking at their phones. Not sure if it was for info, footage or what?

The phone checking mostly had to do with the interactive Chat features on YouTube. That's where a lot of the comments were coming from that were being addressed during the broadcast.

Yeah, I figured that might be the case. It's easy enough to put that on a screen next to the camera, though. Maybe it'll come with time and comfort level on screen. I'd even be ok with a tablet propped in front of them.

I guess I've just always been told to keep your eyes on your audience, so it bugs me some.

We will be live again this weekend from Windrock for the Southern Series Opener.

I will continue to polish the feeds to the best of our ability. The Texas race was the first time any of them were able to be in the production trailer we built for these broadcast. Including Brooks doing the production behind a system he had never seen before, Camera Guys using a system they had never used before, and Dave/ Bree who had never been commentating together before in a studio setup in a 16' trailer with the entire system designed and built by someone who's never done production or broadcasting before. (Me)

Over time we will begin to use many more features that's available in this new system but there's a learning curve for everyone. The only time we get practice is during the actual live feeds so you guys will get to see the transformation as well as all of the faults we have along the way. We hope you enjoy.

I have to many kids now to participate in these events, so this live feed is awesome to watch. I did watch the entire thing last event, and I agree about the commentary. Look, I know it needs it, no doubt. Engine noise would be way better during the runs that the chatter, but Dave Z needs to tone it down a little. I mean, the yankee comes out in him the entire event, I'm not saying he needs canned, I'm just saying it's a little over the top.
