I've got to replace the kingpins in my Dana 60, the tire had a lot of movement up and down and the bearings were tight . What is the easiest way to get the cone out of the top of the C? Any suggestions ? Thanks

yep heat that bitch up and it'll come out... heat it up to put the new one in too.. sometimes its tough to find a 7/8 hex key but there's a dude on pirate that peddles them

They torque on 500-600 ft/lbs. :****: So tighten the **** out of em'

Re: Re: Dana 60 king pin replacement help

Use a cutoff wheel right @ the base of the pin. This will relieve the torque on the threads. Then use a long 7/8 hex acorn lug nut with the ends cut off & an impact & socket to zip it on outta there

I have had to sacrifice a cheap socket that fits bout haf way down. Then weld the snot out of it.
Then a 4 foot cheater.
