dead 22-re

Well drivin home from work, and the 4runner just started lurching and the c/e light came on and then it died goin up the on ramp, any ideas while im waitin to get it hom?

Not much to go on. Lurching.....Not sure.....

x2 on more details.fortunately if its something major those engines are cheap and easy to replace.

Sorry about the vaugness, well when it died I imediatly got out and looked under the hood, the exhaust manifold was glowin a little around the O2 senscor, I haven't really got to tinker with it much cause I had work today

I was thinkin it might be the mass airflow sensor

timing chain might have jumped, my 22re did that and my manifold was glowing red

If it was glowing at the o2 check the efi main fuse. If it is blown then replace it and unplug the 02 as it is shorted. That should get it running but you still have to fix the problem that caused the glowing exhaust.

Also check the efi relay.

Ok thanks, I just checked the c/e light and I got codes 3 6 and 10; ignition signal, rpm signal, and starter signal

Well I cleared the codes and it started and now its throwing a 12 code, knock sensor, im so confused now
