Elbe Busywild update

and is it a maximum WB of 109"? is that what i understand?

Yep, that's what he's saying. Which means any toyota extracab that hasn't been shortened is SOL. :looser:  A good driver can get through those kinda of tight spots without hitting anything, it's just us lazy fawks who rub. :redneck:

The bottom line is that if they are getting through the trail just fine they're not likely to be getting any tickets.
This makes me laugh. Is it a rule or not? Why have it at all if you're not going to enforce it properly and uniformly? It's like driving your rig to Evan's and hoping that they don't judge you as being illegal on the road in.

thats the stupidest thing i have ever heard.

The greenies can sit back and relax, we're doing a better job of locking ourselves out of trails than they ever did.

Another un educated statement. People are working their butts off trying to keep our trails open and they are getting attacked for it:booo: What a bunch of bull**** from people that should be getting off their asses and helping out. People have no friggen clue as to what it takes to have and keep our trails open. If it wasnt for people like Dale and orgs. like the pnw4wda you wouldnt have any trails to use. Instead of sitting here crying because you built a rig that cant fit the trails why dont you get involved so you can see what were really up against:awesomework: Maybe you need to start an org that is dedicated to building trails for fullsize rigs and start lobbying for money from the state to build them also dont forget to get people that know what their doing to wade you through the thousands of pages of enviromental rules that have to be followed:mad: You seem to think this **** is easy when in fact its a real pain in the ass and takes a ton of time from a few select people who are willing to give their time so we all have a place to play. jeeze get a friggen clue:mad:   ok rant off

I have cleaned this thread and started to remove folks from the thread.

Its sad those who work hard have targets on there backs....

SO LETS KEEP IT ON TOPIC FOLKS

i didnt say anything about full size rigs. i was just thinking that it is really stupid to make a trail as popular as the busy seems to be accessible only to jeeps, samurais, and shortened truggys. by all means keep the full size rig off of it, i remember what happened to that chevy early this year. i appreciate everything that everyone does to keep the trails open, and regret that i cant make more of the work parties. but 109" max? that just ****ing ridiculous.

I had this sent to me a while ago. 109" still includes an AWFUL lot of Toyota's

Now we just need someone to come out with an adjustable WB rig.

Thank you gibby for the work and anyone else that helps out!

Has there been any thought on a few concrete pileing/posts installed in the entrance, 3 of them, if you can make it through you dont belong?

I hope to one day be able to run the busy, I am just glad I will be under the wheelbase requirements, its just that darn overhang in the back thats the issue:mad:

the problem i have is that the Busywild has been there for years in it's current, and like Pokey said, much tighter form. if people know this, why build a rig that dosent fit and then expect the trail to addapt to there needs. if you live in Washington, build a rig that fits. back in the "good old days" a rig more than 76" wide and longer than 90" would never have made it through. so now they are letting us have 82" x 109" i think thats fair. if you dont fit the trail help build some that you do fit on.

P.S. thanks a ton Gibby!!!!!!

Nice math Dale, 50% is not "an AWFUL lot"

It's an AWFUL lot of the most popularly used Toyota's as (ELBE HILLS) trail rigs. This didn't even include the TLC.

Most people don't build trail rigs out of extended cab long box pickups. There are some, but the majority are single cab, short box pickups, and first or second generation 4runners.

I think the restrictions on busy should just exclude anything other than jeeps and sukis ... :stirpot:

One benfit would be gibby would spend even *MORE* time getting elbe some better runs for the yota and fullsize crowd. (ya know that crowd that only can biatch).

(BTW, I'm j/k gibby, I do appreciate your efforts at elbe).

OK.........

So I want to ask aquestion here if that won't offend!
The width restiction I can understand
the length seems to be unofficial as terms of use go.
If a rig is over 109 and say 115 has the ability to turn tight (diggers blah blah) What would be the difference when the trail changes, and in elbe that seems to be very often. The trees in any case would ..I'll say get used.. for one purpose or another in the busy / winch/pivot...ect. Are you saying that A ticket would be issued for that particular act? Or that this is to be enforced to weed / thin the "General" wheelers to / from elbe?
In point I could shorten my wheel base and go to Elbe right? And as the legend goes you would still end up with body damage from just going through trails any how....so I see the real deal here, crews need to "OBTAIN" $ for cleaning cost. Just like the police do for the city and court systems. And what was that about street legal? that might mean that your ORV tag on a NON street legal rig would not be useful anymore in WA:beer: ?

Yep.....

One more thing! quit all this super blah:corn: ..keep it like you want it.. go with your width, raise the WB, and bring the price of the dang passes up. You'r telling me the die hard wheelers and I mean the ones that REALLy like ELBE, which I am one. Would not pay $40 for a year pass? instead of.....what is it $17-$20... SUCKA PLEASE! That would be FINE BY ME, and I would still go up to clean(schedule providing) and I live in friggen OR

Hmmmm:corn: This popcorn rules, super buttery. Here is my take on this situation, 82 wide and 109 long is a good number to stick to. I ran Elbe a few weeks ago(82 wide, 103 long buggy) and was able to fit between everything with no major rubbage. People getting their panties all wadded up that are too wide, and too long of wheelbase will ruin the trail being tight and technical. I do not want to wheel a trail that resembles a dirt logging road, and like a challenge so I dont see why this is a big deal,go somewhere else but dont ****up a good tight trail. When I was younger I didnt think about this topic too much, and believed all vehicles should have access but not anymore. Build your rig in a manner as to comply, or just stay on the logging roads plain and simple. And to those bashing Gibby, get a fawking clue as if there werent people like him that put in ALOT of hours in we would loose more ground that we are already are loosing to the environmental ****wads. This is the future people either comply, or loose more plain and simple.:corn:

x2 the longer rigs have a tougher time getting around the tight corners between the trees. Believe it or not at one time Elbe was all about the tightness of the trails not the bottomless mudholes.Time to bring it back to that:cheer:

Yeah, but times have changed. I don't think it is fair Alot of people have bigger rigs now. You guys are slowly taking our right away. They don't make flat fender, high hood quads anymore. :beatdeadhorse:
