For an EFI system does it really matter what end of the system you mount the regulator at? Obviously the closer to the motor it is the less length of pressurized hose you have, but that also means the longer the length of the return/bypass hose.

I have always thought that as close to motor as reasonable. Then when you diagnose pressure issues you are reading the short circuit from the regulator to the TBI/head.

Longer return is just hose anyway.
