Thought I might as well double check with folks that have been there/done that before spending the bucks.

Axle: 1986 Ford Dana 60 King pin

Other than 5.13s and spool, it is pretty stock. I broke a lock out and busted a u joint cap over the weekend (happened about the exact same time, not sure what went first). So I figured it would be a good time to go 35 spline outers with drive flanges.

These parts the correct ones?

Are outers equal length I take it?

That joint is greasable, which I assume is therefore weaker. I'm open to suggestions.

Thanks. 8)

Re:

It took 3 years of beating on my greasable spicer joint to break.

I'm jus gonna try the non greasable this time.

If I can get 3 years out of a 40$ joint....I'm content with that.

Here's what I would do.

You can upgrade the kit to ECGS's domestic 4340 stubs, and add the u-joints and it comes out about $18 cheaper than the links you posted added up. Spicer 5-806x is the non-greaseable forged cross u-joint. I would recommend them over the greaseable. They're stronger, and also cheaper.

ECGS is also a great company to deal with. I've called them late on a Friday afternoon and had parts on my doorstep by Saturday afternoon.

I'd do what hokie is suggesting. Upgrade to the domestic 4340, they come with a LIFETIME warranty.

Thanks guys. So I should go ahead with the $160 USA shafts eh.

Yukon Super Joint worth that hefty price?

Call and speak with a vendor, I didn't pay anywhere near Internet pricing from ECGS.

This! I just sent them a PM on here and got a quote for quite a bit better than the internet list price. I'll be pulling the trigger on a full set with Super Joints in the next couple weeks.

X3. Even before I was local to them I would just call and usually save a good chunk over what internet price was.
