it works.

Cool, I like dem little hamster mobile s :)

Me too. It has two speeds, slow and stop. I just found out I need to do some clearancing on the fenders too. More pictures to follow.

Thanks for the transfer case. It is officially in pieces beside the other one in my living room.

Question of the day. I have only been into two Samurai transfer cases, both have been empty of fluid. Is it normal for them to be empty? Obviously I know that is false. The first had a 4-5 inch crack in it, so I get where the fluid went. The second had no cracks or oily spots on the outside. All seals appeared to be good and there was 123 drops of oil in it. From what I read, it should have a quart of fluid in it. I don't want to ruin bearings or burn up a 6.5 gear set. Anyone that runs these cases long term have any thoughts? I want to do this once and do it right, but I am scratching my head on this second case.

No problem. If you're talking about the one I sent you being empty pretty sure it was drained before it was put up.

That makes me a whole lot happier. I checked for cracks and found none, there was no leaking anywhere. Once I got it back together with my other case half, there was no leaking, until I turned it over. And also when I had to switch out the input and output and the shifter.

I tell you what though. It shifts like a dream now. I was honestly worried it wasn't engaging and disengaging once I got it back together. It was so difficult before, you had to be moving just slightly and have perfect pressure. Now it feels smoother than any transfer case I have ever had the pleasure of shifting. I appreciate the case more than you know.

My camera on my phone decided not to work at all today. However, I did make a Toy rear third unusable. Whomever welded the carrier up too lessons from Stevie Wonder. I am a self proclaimed hack, but feel like I could weld up a carrier better than this bubble gum bullshit. The good news is that it completely ripped off some of the teeth on the ring gear. I will post pictures when I figure out why my phone has decided not to take pictures any more.

Breathers often get closed and that would pressure the case and force oil out.

Probably too late but the ideal thing is to remove stock breather and drill and tap the hole for 1/8 npt barbed fitting, then add some hose looped for rollovers and put a fuel filter on the end

Pretty sure that this isn't supposed to look like it does. Makes it articulate way better though on the drivers side. And now I need some 12 or 14 inch air shocks.

That should work, just borrow the super duty wire ties Kush uses on his seat belts. :flipoff1:

Gonna cut off the links and get a little triangulation at the same time. Sadly enough, I got so much more travel out of the suspension. You never know how much travel you have until a spring splits in half.

I have 200 of them. Summit brand. Love Em. Laugh it up. I'm certified in zip tie engineering... Back in the day on one of my bikes I rode back and forth to a rehab in Athens, (man that place sucked) every plastic ferring (no clue how to spell that) was attached with zip ties. I Never was good at keepin up with the screws.. One night I hit the 150 ish mark and the front clip was shifting back and forth... After I realized I didnt die, I knew right then, that a good quality zip tie can and will save your life. :****: booyang :spin:

What I bought and where I started. Internet's slow or I'd post more pictures. I can only get more triangulation by moving the upper links inward on the frame side.

Man, I had to go back a page to figure out why you were running air shocks with coils. Lol. Do you think 12's will be long enough?

I do.....reason being that I had 2 inches of up travel and 4 down before. <<<<<< That is the God's honest truth. It was like riding on a box of rocks. I broke a spring Sunday and holy **** the difference. I was hoping the other wouldn't break. KMCMINN and Bobby asked if I was gonna take the bypass and I was like Hell No! It actually flexes and I wanna see what it would do unlimited. Thankfully nothing else broke. BTW, once I get the links with a little more triangles in them, the coils are getting cut off. I was hoping to get that done today, but it looks like life showed back up and I will have to wait until after I charge my shocks and for the weather to cooperate again. I'll just remove the coils and take a few hot laps around the yard to see how it does. If all is good, I will go ahead and cut off the brackets, otherwise I will use the coils to hold the thing up while I move the links.

I charged the air shocks today, cut off the springs and took a few pictures. Wow the difference these shocks make on how it hot laps around the yard. Even did a donut which was not possible before cutting of the super stiff springs. Look at the articulation difference :)

Agree 12's should be fine. Hell 14's and I need to cut holes in the hood. Maybe cause my axle bottoms out somewhere near the alt pulley. :spin:
Kel did u happen to hot lap it with the bottle jacks still in there? Please say yes.

No, but there were a couple of wrenches and a piece of plate that fell out. I straight tore my side yard up. i'll take some pictures of the donuts my wife wasn't pleased about. Told her she could start mowing and then I wouldn't do donuts in the yard any more.

The very best part is that I can actually ride around with speed (relative term). No way I could have run half as fast with the old set up. Now I just have to see how moving the links inboard affect it off road.

Well. I've done that also. I think it was nick that commented to me about rtv'n a 1/4" plate to bottom of my trans pan, incase a rock hit it... Well apparently i did something wrong... Cause at 20 or so mph in the neighborhood a 8x9" or so 1/4" piece of metal sounds like all hell breaking loose hitting the street. Haha. Never told anyone. Figured I'd never hear the end of it.

Air shock was getting eaten by a Red Label, so.....lowbudgetjunk fab to the rescue. Now my skills are mediocre, tools minimal and did I mention my skills?

I did cycle the suspension this time to make sure all was good. Refilled airshocks with hydraulic oil, 5cc from the top. I need to finish up the other side, but here's some before and after
