Ok, so tried to get him to come on here and start his own thread, wasn't interested YET.
It's the first vehicle he bought on his own, he got it and started wanting to do all kinds of stuff to it, I said no. Reason, he needed to learn from the build process.
As it sits today rebuilt 22re stock, stock trans, into toyota to dana 300 case, shitty cable shifters I had laying around. 5.29s welded rear sparten locker up front, ifs/hub brake swap up front, cross over with 5th hole mod. Typical yota stuff.

Any recommendations on a rust neutralizer that actually works. Asking for a crusty toyota kid
 
Haha, he hasn't worked on it in going on 2 weeks, sheet metal rust is deleted by said Sawzall and cut off wheel.
I think he his waiting on me to work on it, I told him my **** work can get expensive.

Been meaning to ask, what's the abbreviations in the thread title stand for?
 
Cage 98% done other than welding it out, ran out of tubing. 1 bar on passenger side to match drivers in the bed area, and some tubing for shock mounts.
We allways come up short here, never have any excess :unsure:

Got the TJ regulator cut apart and modified to a barb outlet, cut the plastic out and soldered brass barb into the regulator to attach inner fuel hose. Tapped and welded 3/16" washer from the hole saw pile.
Wasnt to bad other than the plastic tangs holding the regulator in was bitch.

Seat mounts are 90% done still have to pull rear cross bar out and add some pins, 1 bolt holds each seat in to keep a lazy man honest, has 3 pins with R-clips. For rest makes for quick seat removal, I've 4 over rigs this way with no issues.

Waiting to finish out the ends of the bumper, he can't decide what he wants to do with bed sides yet, built some shackle mounts with recovery points integrated onto them.

Got started on sheeting out the rear inner fenders. Still alot to figure out, I'm still amazed how some people make sheetmetal work look easy. Friend of my sons, bought any remaining steel off of a local shop a year or so ago, bought 6 sheets of 4'x10' 20 gauge for $20 a sheet, there is alot of waste metal in these. Local supplier priced him $300 for 4'x8'.

Inner fender is looking good and that's a heck of a score for the sheets of metal.
