I've got the ls1 oilpan for my 5.3, but i started reading about oiling issues, so I thought id ask what yall are running? :afro:

I run a Kevco, it seems to work really well and I always have good oil pressure.

from what i've read, most are running the kevko pan or an acumulator, if not both. i recently picked up a kevko pan for my 6.0, i'm gonna use it b/c it seems to be proven.

psc sells a baffle setup for the f-body oil pans if you happen to have one.

Kevco still leaves some to be desired. MAST came out with a new pan but its pricey and still doesnt fully solve the issue. Accumulator is a must, Kevco, or a modified LS6 pan.

I've got an LS6 pan for sale, but its not modified.

i put just a stock 5.3 pan on my ls1, i have ran it that way for 3 years with no problems.

I have been happy with my kevko. You can get the fittings in any position u want and it is priced well. It is the best bet if clearance is tight. The dipstick with it is junk, so get a new one or use stock. Eor sells the moroso pan also. It is nice if you have more room.

I used to still lose pressure pretty fast with the Kevco, it wasnt instant like the stocker. I believe Blase had the same experience. Just saying dont buy the Kevco and thinking you are 100% fixed.

I have not been upside down with new motor, but have had it up and down Viagra, wailing wall, and a few other steep obstacles and the psi has never even budged. :dunno:

Maybe I am just lucky??? :woody:

Or just that damn good! :flipoff1:

This..... or some derivation of....

No you are just that good. Upside down it dont matter. Even an Accumulator is only going to buy you a second or two upside down. Its steep forward and on your sides that you are compensating for. Steep rear should really never be an issue with a front engine buggy with the pickup at the back of the pan.

I want to add that I am in no way discounting what Wyatt said about an accumulator. He has way more experience on his side and lid than I do. :****:
I have had good luck with the pan alone, but have not put my new motor in near the conditions Wyatt has with his old buggy. So, I will agree that if you have the money and space, an accumulator is a good idea.

I have had good luck with my Kevco and keeping good pressure. As long as you hook the lines up right to the filter you should be good ;D

I have had good luck with the last two buggies running the stock ls f body pan and the Improved racing baffle kit. I also run a little extra oil in the motor just to help. have not seen a negative to running a little extra oil in the motor...
