Matt O's Ultra4 Buggy - EOR Racing #4462

Re: Matt O's S&N Fab Buggy Updates & KOH Prep/Rebuild

Couple more pics. Got a good bit more done today. All body panels/skins are ready for paint, tranny lines are out and just need parts to make new soft lines. Nothing major, just more work that has to be done. P is coming over tommorrow so hopefully we can knock out the passenger side t-bar and Jamie is letting us borrow his welder for a few weeks to knock out the fab items.

Re: Matt O's S&N Fab Buggy Updates & KOH Prep/Rebuild

Did a few mods to the rig last night at the Hardline Christmas party...

Running boards are a must for 2009. Don't be caught without them.

- extended the wheelbase about 10". We simply unbolted the tires and rolled them further apart. It's not as hard of a thing as people say.
- Rebuilt the roof skin, used the old hood for better aerodynamicnasey.
- Replaced the front seat with a swivel work stool. It'll make it much easier to look around without having to turn one's neck so much

Re: Matt O's S&N Fab Buggy Updates & KOH Prep/Rebuild

I love garage asshatery. P keeps it fun when it's below zero and the drink is on!

Re: Matt O's S&N Fab Buggy Updates & KOH Prep/Rebuild

The running boards are custom! I knew you clowns were up to something, just didn't know what.

Re: Matt O's S&N Fab Buggy Updates & KOH Prep/Rebuild

How about a picture of your "to do" list. In case Im forgeting something. Just about got the moon buggy ready, collecting parts for the Caddi. As soon as Im satisfied the Moon buggy is ready then I will go for getting the Caddi motor swap thing done. I would like to take both to the Hammers and pre run in the Caddi, or possibly run the Caddi. Either way the Cad needs the heart transplant!

Oh NO... there is top secret information on that board, **** that no one else, not even the Tennessee guys know about. Showing the entire board and its content to the entire interweb would be like kissing Pamela Anderson and not catching a chub... that **** just aint gonna happen !

Most his list was basic, alot of it was to get his rig "tech ready " since it hasnt been a comp rig in years. thumb.gif

Re: Matt O's S&N Fab Buggy Updates & KOH Prep/Rebuild

Yeah not really anything on the list, just safety and maintenance stuff I need to do. Biggest things for me were nets, horn and rear amber

There, fixed it for you.

Small Update:

Lots of stuff in the works right now, hope to have some COOL pics soon. This project has really made me thankful for all the great people I have met through these boards and on the trails. Several of the regulars here have helped me out more than I can repay.

Joe at Lynn Johnson's Collision Repair
I spent Monday and Tuesday at Joe's shop, taking instructions from him on what to do to get my skins/panels ready for paint. Well everything was super easy, except the hood. I have 3 hours in all the other and 1.5 days in the hood. There was a large dip in the middle of it so we added fiberglass to fill the gap and then 2 layers of bondo. Joe shot it with primer yesterday and is getting painted with a super sexy Deep Orange tommorrow. Will post pics when I get them Friday!

Daniel at Truck Supply & Outfitter's
Daniel helped me out with a winch repair a few months back and I asked him for some help with a coating for my interior panels on Monday and he said no problem. The spray Ultimate Liner at his shop and he is going to spray both sides of my panels this week. I dropped them off with him today and he was nice enough to mont my spare/wheel and tire up! Daniel is top notch.

Bling!

Essentially Offroad
Jimmy stepped up to helped me again this week with some random axle seals and a rear ring and pinion. I was worried about getting the gears setup correctly since the rig is not driveable and Jimmy said, "I will do it when I come up next weekend, no problem!" Awesome, thanks again guys.

I would also like to thank my Mom for sewing the required BFG patches on my pit shirt and race jacket. I look official now and P I got two patches for you also.

So the front end is torn down and ready to be put back together when my seals arrive. Tranny lines are off and I have the stuff to make soft lines. Waiting on window nets and seat covers from PRP and a new set of Reds from BFG! About to order some stuff from Summit also. Other than that I hope to get the rig back together soon.

Cool, I noticed that Nichol's rig has $19,863.27 worth of off road lights on the roof. Could probably burn a hole in Godzillas butt if they were kicked on. I have got a set of Warn hi-lo off road lights on the shelf with all the wiring and hi-lo switching if needed. Hi beams pepper.gif

Re: Matt O's S&N Fab Buggy Updates & KOH Prep/Rebuild

I may take you up on those Warn's Gregg, my Hella Headlights kinda suck. But yeah the light bars are to make them look like a desert truck, race is during the day thumb.gif To lots of people it is all about image and I don't have $2k to waste on lights :flipoff1:
