1995-1998 Not much happening while I was in. Man I feel old.
19K Abrams armor crewman = Tanker.

I was unaware that some of you that I've met on rides have served. You have my respect.

I feel like I missed an opportunity to serve after high school. I wanted the marines. I have a plate and four screws In my arm, recruiter told me I would have to have it removed on my own dime. Which at the time I didn't have a nickel. I went and got a job and bought a house at 18, and never went back. Sometimes I wonder if they just give you an obsticle to overcome if you want to join, to see if your serious.

We have all of these little symbols by our avatar, I think it would be awesome if we had a symbol for people that have served. Seeing you have each posted in this thread I would assume you guys wouldn't have a problem, but I thought I would get your guys opinions before messaging John to see if it is doable.

Same here, thanks guys.

The people who lived next door to me growing up, the man was in ww2. Back in the early 90's his son was watching a war documentary on vhs, and saw his dad on it. By this time, the dad had passed away. They had a local company that developed film and sold cameras make a picture of him from that documentary.

We went last week to Ft Benning for our nephew's graduation from boot camp. They gave a demonstration of the gear each man wore when in combat. You guys are definitely bad sombitches, but think about the WW1 guys , wool socks and a bolt action rifle. Thank you all for making and keeping us safe!!!

My youngest brother was supposed to graduate 11B from Benning last week but fractured his leg almost a month ago. He was struggling with the 2 mile run for soreness in that leg, found out what it was when he stepped in a pothole and REALLY broke it. Reckon it had been cracked for a while. They're washing him out, but I'm going to PT him to death when he gets back, see if we can get him back in.

Obligatory basic training "Look, mom, I'm a badass SAW gunner!" picture...

Not only is this young man a bad ass, when you falk with him.....you falk with all his buddies. That is the most important thing that my nephew said he learned in basic training, the importance on his team. He said he felt so good knowing he was going to help protect his friends and family. I say thank you again, young men. And I mean MEN!!

Love me some M240B, have had a whole lot of fun when they finally got mounted on the front of our 25' RB-S.

USCG 2003 to present. Did you know we have an office in Japan? I didn't until I got orders to it.

I was thinking Marines or Coast Guard until my buddy said the magic words "Army $20,000 bonus" and the recruiter said the magic words "rain hell on the enemy". Marines because, well, Marines. Coast Guard because I was picturing opening up on drug boats with a .50 cal at 100 mph on open water. Glad I chose what I did though. Lots of good times.
