Hardline Crawlers - Rock Bouncer Builds, Tech & Off-Road Trail Talk

Help Support Hardline Crawlers:

You are indeed a lucky boy...could have been much worse at freeway speeds.

(BTW...while your at it you might want to think about a full sized spare.)

Why would you want a full size spare, the few times I even have a spare its smaller, is a spare, not something to drive me to Florida on.....:;
Of course I do deflate the spare to save weight as well!!:cheer:

im supposed to carry a spare?:redneck:

in this instance, i think a matching spare is sorta moot....as it woulnt really have helped much....

I carry a spare sandwich sometimes! :awesomework:
However I normally end up eating it, so I dont really know if it should be called a spare.:scratchhead:

better than paying less for junk = Toyota. :haha::fawkdancesmiley:

I like my STOCK rear end. It cost me 130 bucks to build it. Gears and a welder. Nothin else needed. I dont even think a 2WD toyota axle is a wimpy as a d35.:looser: If it is at least it wont fly apart like that.

I guees I would have some good insurance on a DD jeep. from the looks of it just driving one is a liability!:booo:

Lucky no one was hurt.

Hahaha, yeah man....even 2wd Toyota axles are tough....I had one in my hotrod with a 400HP SB.:D
Most Jeep guys don't realize that Toyota axles are about as tough as 9" Fords....
But then, Jeep guys have a hard time with multible syllable words.....:haha:

sad but so true :fawkdancesmiley:

Axles.....hell, it says so right where you quoted me......:haha:

The intelligence level around here is mind blowing........

I know what axles are...I know what diffs are, people say one thing and refer to another everyday.

Sorry to have bothered you with the clarification efforts.

So Toyota axles (shafts?) are as strong as ford 9"what? Your statement doesn't say anything clearly so I guess your intelligence level fits right in with the rest of the web tards.:haha:

HP has nothing to do with it. How much torque to the wheels?

I don't know how much to the wheels the stock 4.0 puts out 235 ft lbs of torque, what it is at the wheels depends on the crawl ratio, but with the rig in qwestion, I would imagine it is pretty stock, and would never break an 8.8 or Dana 44 rear.

While an 8.8 and/or a D44 would be an upgrade, the one thing that most folks have learned through the years is that if you're going to spend money on new parts you might as well only do it once.

So you're gonna tell me that after spending the money on your 60's that you haven't spent another dime on them? If not, you should market them. :awesomework:

People say 'engine' when they mean 'motor' and they also say 'motor' when they mean 'engine'.

At what point does it matter anymore?

I don't have 60's...I have a mixture of Ford 9", Dana 50 and Dana 60 FF parts.

And, the axles are essentially unchanged from when it was a daily driver with the exception being the spool in the rear.

There's no difference between motor and engine when speaking of a vehicle, but there is a difference when speaking of axles and diffs.

It won't matter anymore when people can comprehend the English language beyond the 8th grade.
