I enjoy night wheeling because it makes small challenges a little more interesting. I've done it at Evans in the snow mostly and also in Japan.

I usually end up night wheeling out at Reiter between the months of Sept-Feb, since it's dark more than it's light throughout those months.

Just use your brains, common sense, like C-dogg says, tell the cops/DNR what you were up too, where etc..they will most likely give you a break. or maybe not, what ever just don't be a prick either way.

Those days are gone mark from how it sounds from the DNR in retrospect to night stuff..

I night wheel everywhere I wheel. Rimrock, Naches, TSF, fintucky, webber bickelton, G-dale etc etc etc. If Reiter has a night wheeling ban it sounds like I won't be wasting my time up there. Wheeling at night is more fun than during the day.

One of these days we'll get Porter to put lights on the silver bullet so the sissy will come out after dark and wheel.... :flipoff:

I liked night wheeling at reiter cus the next day i'd wander out to the truck all grooggy-like and be like "WTF, where'd that dent come from?!?" It's much better to find these things the next day. :redneck::haha:

The main reason the DNR wants to stop night time activity in the Reiter area is because of trash dumping, meth lab dumping, abandoned stolen vehicles, vandalism and all the other bad activities that ORV users have to clean up at the work parties.

As far as reiter is concerned--you will be treated like any "trouble" maker up there if caught. They don't want "anybody" up there at night wheelin.

I can agree to this..

But you have a few problems with it. First of course being liability.

The other. The DNR has specific rules with this kind of thing and they used to even have a training program for patrol type stuff. In fact me and GaryJT took the class a number of years ago to patrol at walker.

But as of right now--we are in the "grey" area due to the committee getting closer to the end---like 3 months. So till then I can't see anything really happening on this subject.

The first time I wheeled at Evans was at night in my ex wife's stock 95 4Runner which WAS in pristine condition!! I ended up ripping off the passenger fender, had to re-skin both passenger doors, and repair the passenger quarter and rocker!:redneck: Good thing I used to do bodywork! You should have seen the look on her face when I got home, she was pissed!!:ANYWORD:
