Nylon brake line

Right on, got fire? no brakes!

Got an abrasion, no brakes!

Gonna defend the junk by saying, semi trucks have plastic lines? Well semi trucks STOP when the line busts or has a hole, your truck just falls off the road instead.

Plastic lines and teflon/stainless flex hoses have NO place on rigs I build.

IMO.

I've started moving away from the teflon lines, which is what is inside those steel braided flex hoses.

The ends break too easily, the nylon can fail without any visual warnings.

On my wife's TJ, when I get a chance it'll be short rubber lines with steel line running down an upper control arm.

On my YJ, not sure how I'm going about that yet, but the extra long lines keep getting nailed between the bump stop and axle no matter what I tried. Just hasn't been an issue with it parked the last 5 years.

The stuff works but has it drawbacks.

Even rubber lines can fail under fire, abrasion and even the internal lining can fail causing brake issues.

I still prefer rubber hoses though because it is easier to work with and you don't have to safeguard steel line against heat (routing) near as much as the nylon stuff.
