Just went to healthcare.gov to see what Obamacare had to offer us.
The plans are terrible compared to our current one. The closest in price has triple the deductible.
The highest monthly priced plan still has double our current deductible.

Have you heard the newest twist? Obamacare defines Rural Volunteer Firemen as employees and the station is responsible to purchase them insurance!!!!! It's going to take a lot more than the yearly bake sale to raise that kind of money!

And since they are covering the government's dropped responsibility while jeopardizing their health WTF DON'T they get the same health insurance options that any other government employee does? Just another example of how ****ed up our government's priorities are. If it takes Obamacare to start treating those guys in some semblance like the government should that's fine with me. I volunteer with our local health unit, our search and rescue team, our citizen emergency response team and several other local charities. Many of my friends are volunteer firemen.
We are in the middle of power outages due to an ice storm right now. We have helped old folks to get to shelters, taken generators to medically I'll shut ins, and helped others in many ways.
Legislating volunteerism out of existence and depending on our government is counter productive. (Katrina)
