Sweet!. I told Bunk I want to see him in the top 10. He said he needed 600hp to do it. I said just make sure everyone else crashes and you drive it like you stole it. Lol

Jason barrel rolled at 60 during prerunning tearing off a wheel and cracking some welds.

Then during LCQ the stressed rear wheel studs let go costing him a good start time.

still he started 103rd and finished 21st!!!!!!! hell of a race

Congrats Jas :beer::beer::beer:

Didn't he have problems with wheel studs last year too?

We have a good pit crew that I am proud to be part of......spent all day thursday tearing down, inspecting and found one of the spidertrax stubs was also twisted. among other repairs/prep.

This was the first race we had coms with pits and it was worth every penny!

I'm sure Jason will have a race week recap with all the carnage and mayhem soon

Did ya end up getting your rig running?

Yes, friday I tore the engine out (something in the timing is wrong) and sarg got me a yard motor I put in on sat. Did hot laps by the house sat night and headed out sun.

Using the same computer it works great! :awesomework:

Well, sucks for Bunk..... Always next year....

Congrats to Lippy for "FINISHING"!!! :awesomework: BOUT TIME!!!:fawkdancesmiley:

Im for sure done now. I drove my car to its limit qualifying. a stock 5.0 wont cut it AT ALL any more. Must have big power if you arnt pre qualified.

The rig is up for sale, everything that fits the car will go with it so i can start my machining business.

takes big money.. sorry you got to sale it.you gave it hell joe.. maybe again in the future? now on to other dreams? gonna build a cheap yota to go wheelin with us?

It doesn't take big money, a guy brought his toyota trail rig, and conquered the race. That toyota beat Robby Gordon! Bunk made it into the big race this year, it was a mechanical failure (fuel pump?) that took him out/ kept him from racing/finishing.

Story on the Toyota:
http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1044819

You should have heard Robby Gordon in a pre-race interview saying, he needs a new motor to win it, old reliable with 500hp wasn't going to work. He got beat by a carbed 22r.

The same Toyota walked up CT right past a couple hundred grand worth of Buggies. A true testament to what it takes isn't money, but bringing something that's tried, true, reliable, give it all you got, and cross your fingers.

Even Larry pulled off a finish this year, I think he earned it :awesomework:

Good luck on the sale, and the machining business Bunk!

It was awesome, I was cussing out buggies that were driving like girls in the sand/rock section of CT and then the crappy yota pulls up and wastes most of the time crankin the starter. But when it started, it DROVE right up into CT easier than MOST of the buggies that went thru.

But obviously the guys in the toyota had SEAT TIME. Lots of it.

Did I mention they were rocking 20R parts and a carb too?

20R carbs are as "BIG MONEY" as it gets.

It takes big money if you want to be competitive. I don't know Bunk, but it doesn't sound like he wants to spend thousands of dollars just for the sake of being the race. If you just want to run the Hammer, there's cheaper weekends to go.

You're forgetting that the only reason the Toyota was in the race, was because of all LCQ's recieved an entry spot. On a "normal" year, you aren't going to see that rig in there.

I'm not trying to take anything away from the "Toyota Guy" (Addicted Racing IIRC.) It is a great story and we were all yelling our ass of for him when the came through CT the first time. If he wasn't carbed, he would have walked that first ledge that gave everyone all of the trouble.

The toyota actually got in on the Every Man Challenge. He would have been in no matter what. The qualification change had nothing to do with it.

He will be back next year on a merit spot as well.
