• Help Support Hardline Crawlers :

Rootar's rzr build.

Well i got to go for a shake down run today. Ive got to say i was very very surprised. This thing is like a spider in the rocks. It walked right up the hardest lines on all the loop trails (4s and 5s) at Superlift ORV Park. Zero issues, EZ Steer power steering is awesome, 32" roctanes were awesome, radiator kept the temps 190-200 all day long.

and a side shot with a stock 900.

Madram11 was awesome enough to put a little video up of it.

well that weekend brought the first of the broken parts. I broke a lower ball joint, lower arm, brake rotor, tierod end. So i got it fixed enough to carry on saturday and then when i got home i started thinking about what was needed to fix the thing right.

A set of HOLZ tie rods was ordered, that took care of that issue. Then i couldn't find a set of arms i would be happy with so i decided to build some.

Parts to build with include:

super dave bushings and sleeves
Ruffstuff 3/4x3/4 hiems and bungs
special carriers mfg billet spindle pins
1.25"x13/16id dom to machine for the bushing sleeves
1.5"x .250 wall dom to put the heim bung in

i still need to finish the other sides arms and then i can relocate the front upper shock mounts, going to limit the droop and gain a hair of up travel. This will help the handling when headed wide open up the hills.

Ever weigh it ?

Jon Piper

on the way to SRRS it weighed 1320 on the CAT scales

I will get a corner by corner weight total with some car scales when i get everything on it. Still needs my tools, jack, side panels and a few tid bits. I hope to be under 1400 complete and ready to race.

the 900s and 1000s ive seen pics of weighed have been anywhere from just under 1300 (stock, no skids, stock cage, little tires) all the way to 1675 pounds (skids, heavy suspension, big tires, cage, roof, tools). Mine when finished would be mostly fairly compared to those most heavily equipped which also weigh the most.

RZR sharps bouncer style rzrs are about the same weight as mine.

oil filter relocation parts will be here this week. You can do this setup I'll be running for $110 for any sxs if you don't mind building your own mount . Who else has converted to a vertical remote filter? How high are y'all mounting them?

uhmw was $$$$ since this thing is so light i went with HDPE it was 1/4 the price from cope plastics here local to me. so far its doing good.

Well i did get it finished up and to the powdercoater, itll be finished and ready come feburary 20th for the SRRS battle fest.
