Anyone else use junkyards for a budget build??

I bought 500 lbs of new 1/2, 3/8 and 1/4 steel. The smallest section was 2'x2' for less than 100 dollars. Can't beat them.
Plus the scrapyard I use is next door to my shop.

But cousin got me beat on his 3/4 ranger budget build w/4spd,np205,EFI 5.0,hi pinion D44/D60,zero miles on new 38.5 TSL....everything he got was either from pull-a-part in b'ham or scrapyard xcept tires....has bout $2100 including tires (out of pocket $)....also helped tearing down ranger and taking drivetrain to scrap and all other scrap during his build,he done a side job and got more scrap from other truck.....i got bout $1700 in a cj7 build with healthy sbc400,all above i mentioned....just need one tons and 42s.*coming soon*..(already have 4-link bars) * thats how we do it!!!*
