On my kids transverse buggy I mounted the rear shocks completely vertical from the chassis down. Is there any stability advantage to moving the lower mount out towards the tire so they angle in?

yes - move them out.

You dont want them to go negative at droop which they can do when mounted vertically.

I have heard 5-15* being the "ideal" lean (both forward and in) but really its whatever works best for your setup. I would definitely move them if you have the room.

Thank you!! I move the most out and like it much better. And even crawling around it while worki g it feels more stable. And looks better also. I was able to move them about 6 inches on each side.
