Sipping Whiskey

Hardline Crawlers - Rock Bouncer Builds, Tech & Off-Road Trail Talk

Help Support Hardline Crawlers:

Ancient age
Blantons
Eagles rare
Woodford reserve
Jim beam Devils cut
These are my go to.

Call me crazy, but I like whiskey and coke.
Only good coke though. Do not disgrace my drink by pouring flat or hot coke in it.
I buy the small 8oz cans and keep them super cold. I use one can per drink period. Mood and occasion dictates the amount of booze per drink.

Try lemon lime sparkling water from the dollar store!!!! If you like it with sprite you will love it!

Tried woodford reserve for the first time last night.
About 3 shots and a shot of water and a couple of ice cubes.
Pretty good.
Damn you hardline!!! Now I'm turning into a whiskey snob!!

I was sipping Woodford Reserve last night as I watched my Georgia Bulldogs trying to loose to Georgia Southern. :-\

Bring some of your fancy ice to GM this weekend Tbitoy and I will furnish the whiskey. Got some forty creek, Evan Williams, shine, absolute, quervo traditional. Cook a little, ride a little, tell a bunch of lies. Maybe I'll learn something.

**** I'd like to take you up on that offer, but seems like nowadays we have a family get together to go to every weekend from Halloween till after Christmas.

I used to be able to skip em and go riding all Roctober, Rocvember, and Rocember, but now with the wife and baby that ain't happening !

Ok, so I've stepped off in it now. I tried woodruff reserve last night, and 40 creek a few days ago.
Went back to forty creek tonight. I love the maple smell and slight hint you get from it. I don't want the sweetness, but the slight flavor and smell is very cool.
I guess maybe I like the Canadian whiskeys more?? Maybe cause it's cause I'm still a good whiskey noob??
Any suggestions on other Canadians to try??

Some good ones to try from O Canada is Hirsch,Gibsons distillery, century reserve, also Barton brands makes many that is very well priced and is very flavorful and of course you have Canadian club My favorites are Dewar's and Aberlour but like I said I prefer scotch

Had a customer give me a bottle of Chattanooga Whiskey it was called like 1816 or something 1800's. That **** was GOOD. It was good chilled and sipped but it was even better in coke.

Which 40 Creek are ya'll recommending?

That's all I can find near me.

My last NYE drink because I gotta work early in the AM. Just getting into the sipping whiskey thing and I've tried 3 bottles since this thread started. Tried some Makers, Lexington, and this was just some cheap stuff I bought to numb the pain of a sore throat I've had lately. It's ok but not as good as the other 2. Probably gonna stop by the liquor store tommorow when I get off work and try one of those $40 bottles or something nice.

When it's at a high proof it burns more than anything. If you want to sip and get the full flavors out of it you dilute it. Cut down you taste more of what's going on with it. Everything that is taste tested at jack is diluted to somewhere around 50/50.
It's mostly personal preference really. If you are used to strong liquor drink it straight but your not getting the full flavors out of it.
Come take a tour. They offer a tasting tour now that is 10 bucks. You get to sit down and taste the gentleman, honey, fire, black and maybe one more can't remember. The guide should help you through the tasting and give a little taste etiquette. Or just buy a barrel and the master distiller can really help you out

How much is a barrel?

I'm still waiting on some of your fancy ice. Ft myers fireworks were no good. I could have put on a better show with my flair gun. Band was good.

I picked up Small batch 4 Roses and a bottle of E.H. Taylor jr. The Taylor is the straight rye, pretty hot but settles nicely with splash of Sprite. Not really impressed with 4 roses so far. So far Eagle Rare for the money is really good. My favorite sippin though has been Angels Envy by far! Hal I looked for Forty Creek but no luck.

Bought a bottle of Basil Hayden and brought it to a party last night. Holy **** that stuff was good. Next time I'll keep it all to myself.

4 Pages and ain't nobody even hinted about Irish Whiskey.

So, being of Irish descent, I decided if it was good enough for my ancestors, I should try it. And I liked it! A lot! JAMESON. For years, I sipped it. And I was sitting at an Irish bar and they had a wall tin hanging that read Jameson and Cola. I asked of that was a joke (since I felt like mixing with coke was weak), and the tender said it wasn't, and it's pretty damn good. So, when I want something sweet, I mix JAMESON with coke.

$5000-$8000 I do believe. Depends on the barrel.

Atleast 10k I think. It's funny how it works. If you have the money it's cheaper to buy it by the barrel and have it personalized vs. Buying it off the shelf. Price varies depending on yield and what all you want done.

Just a cheap bottle of booze, but it sure is good with a little Coke.

That's the exact same bottle that got me incarcerated. Haha

Hahahaha, I can agree , when I was a kid it was distilled 4 miles from my house, always lots of bootleg bourbon going around (still is) I'm 39 but what was those old dudes that started the wine cooler thing that was seagrams? Way back, before there were anything other than beer or liquor?

Picked up a bottle of the Crown Royal Hand Select the other day. Damn fine ****.

Was a bit apprehensive after getting burned by JD single barrel but the store had a taster and that **** was amazing.
