I found this steering cylinder on ebay that should work for me, toy axle on a light weight buggy. I am having trouble trying to find mounts and for cylinder and something to connect the cylinder rod end to the heims on my steering arms. Can anyone point me in the right direction or tell me if this steering cylinder will not work.

That looks like it's gonna require some custom clamps to mount it to the axle. By the time you have those made, you might as well just get a PSC cylinder.

This one would work better for you.

Re: Re: steering cylinder

Not with the 6 shooters and longs. You can squeeze 4" throw depending on how you mount the ram.

not running the 6 shooter knuckles. what type material are you using to limit the steering cylinder?

Re: Re: steering cylinder

I ASSumed you had them.
Limit with a piece of DOM tube internally or shaft collars externally

Re: Re: steering cylinder

I looked at this one before but didn't like the ends on the ram which is why I went with the first I posted

i have 8 inch ram on toy axle it had to be shimmed 1.25 on each side. psc well sell shimmes i had local machinist make some

Re: Re: steering cylinder

I ran 8" cylinders on the last 2 toyotas i built.

One had custom straight steering arms on the top and bottom, the other uses stock low steer arms.

I actually just limited the stroke on a single ended ram for my toyota axle

I just bought a $5 poly cutting board and cut the spacers with 2 different size hole saws
