Is there some international law that prevents ships from being armed? Does arming a vessel with even small arms make it a "war vessel" or something.
I just shake my head everytime I read about these cruise ships and oil tankers being hijacked off the Somali Coast. These companies are paying these stupid bastards millions to get their ships back!
I've watched the news footage...bunch of fuggin natives with high speed canoes throwing ropes over the sides of damn huge ships.
The pirates have AK's and the usual RPG's that every living being in that part of the world seems to own(instead of food) but couldn't the ship's crew be armed with at least the equivilant? How many of these bastards would they have to blow out of the water before they'd run out of canoes and motors. It's just beyond me that the world governments allow this **** to not only exist but to effect world markets like they do.
OK...that's my rant for the day....just trying to get your minds off the equally stupid **** that's going on here in our own country!
