th350 vs 400

What's the good the bad and the ugly between the 2 trannys? It would be behind a LQ9 nothing crazy, just a cam and a tune. Is it better to buy new or find a cheap one and have it rebuilt?

There will deff be different oponions about these two but here is my experence..... 400 is deff a heavier built trans for working BUT it kills horsepower and IN MY EXPERENCES does not hold up to the abuse like a 350 does. If I was going to beat on it at all I would (and currently running) with the 350 turbo...... Now If you really want a good transmission build you a powerglide (my next buggy will have) and free up horsepower and out last both turbo's.

Glide is out, it will see some road time to and from some trails.

And heat is what kills trans. If u gonna drive it on the road buy a good dedicated trans cooler double the size you think you need.
