If my memory is right, it was created as a "watch dog" type of organization.

Whatever, if a predominantly white group is called racists, who really gives a ****? It's not like they can sue for discrimination, because they obviously allow blacks, if they want to be there. The NRA and anyone else for that matter needs to stop worrying so much about being p.c., and just do what it is they do. The only people you're hurting are members, because if you're having to run equal opportunity ads to get your reputation straightened out, that's time/money/effort that could be used for something else.
