Vandalism @ the back door

I saw that idiot in the Dakota ripping around in the main lot Sunday as I was leaving. Those types of people are my biggest frustration when it comes to "Reiter" Discuss this topic to the point of exhaustion on a regular basis. But what can we do?!

As for the comment about wheelers doing some of this cutting I feel that some of that cutting was used directly for paving the trail entrance. There were at least 20, chunks of logs PILED DIRECTLY into the entrance of the trail, basically paving it like a freeway for ANY rig to get up through the entrance, which almost serves as a mini gatekeeper of sorts to keep certain vehicles from going any further. Now whether that was a byproduct of the vandalism or not its hard to tell, but it is clear that someone had the bright idea to fill in the rock obstacles to essentially drive a friggen ford escort through. Further up the trail wherever logs were laid out as barriers, cuts were made evenly through, and then just left there. Someone had to be there for a long time cutting, and it was relatively fresh.

As we saw on the end of the trail, while we were getting the rest of our group up (who were cradled for a reason), a few jeeps came up behind us, OPEN, and NO WINCHES on any of the rigs... they needed assistance from our group to get up the hill, over the rock/stumps, breaking **** as they tried to throttle out.

after being at Elbe the previous day, and seeing the 'signage' and then going to Reiter, and seeing rigs running trails blind, I can appreciate the benefit of the signs.

I will bring the pictures of the destruction to the RTW meeting tomorrow.

You don't know for certain that it was the same guy. Also he may have had a permit to cut wood.....
The guy is probably a dirt bag wood poacher but we don't know that yet.

As stated we don't know if its the same guy or not--but my opinion still stands its not wheelers doing it--they would cut/drag the stuff out of the way--not buck it up...

As for the person in question---he's a meth head who is known in the valley for his actions and theft....

I didn't know that. Is it posted on the sign in the main lot? If it's not posted then it's up to the DNR if they want to give out a permit or not.

I don't think its posted.. But when you buy a permit you are given a map of areas and I believe the whole reiter area is not on the map..

One of those deals that you would not need to sign the area because its handled on the permit selling side of it....

when we were at reiter last with the 24 hour endurance race 2 dudes in a black dodge dakota were cutting wood in the rock garden, we thought they were with the moto guys and then realized they were cutting wood, the dude back his truck up at the finish line of the moto guys and they bitched him out, we figured they got his licence and figured they would come back later and get the wood?

:haha: Omg no way! Our little thieves that were in our neighborhood trying to sell us wood.:haha:

I didnt think nothing of it.. But Grant Collins Wife and I noticed (what we thought were thieving tweakers) that said Dakota come ripping thru the upper lot early in the am 2 weekends ago when we were up there... Thought they were scoping out the camp's set up... That was Sunday..Saturday while we were all on Rhino land we all heard saw's running:eeek:..

HotRod, Do your work with your digi and pop this fawker!!!:awesomework:

Yes it was the same smashed up Dakota:mad: with a trailer behind it with wood sides... they came thru super early... Think the 5 dogs, 2 blue nose and 3 brindle pitbulls up there holding down the camp site kept them moving:redneck:
