Vasectomy

Best thing I ever did. I got it done after planned kid number two.

When I met w the doc for the consultation I told him I was going to be anxious as hell when I came in to get it done. He prescribed me two Valium or something. Ate one on the 20 minute drive there and the second when I arrived. I was calm and the nurse who taped my **** to my chest was hot. The procedure is quick and relatively painless. Burned pecker parts does have a certain smell.

One day watching TV and the next day I was walking around the property.

I had the option to bring in a specimen or do an in home test thingy. It was well worth the $50 to not have to go back to the doc with a cup of giz.

Worst part for me was when they pulled off the tape .... It ripped out my chest hair !!!
Seriously best move ever for me

Thats exactly what i was about to write, the untaping is the worst part! It felt like it pulled the skin off my cawk!

On a side note, i talked to a guy the other day who's wife got pregnant 7 years after his vasectomy! He made her get a paternity test and it was his!

I had it done a couple years ago. Nothing to it! A little sting of the needle to numb my balls. I was over in about 10-25 minutes. Went home with some pain pills and a couple bags of frozen pees. I sat in the recliner for 2 or 3 days. Up and about no biggie!

Suck it up sally! :dblthumb:

I just had it done Jan 14th. No valium, no anesthesia, no nothing. I didn't even take my pants off, just pulled them down to my ankles. He shot my scrotum up with something so I wouldn' feel him cut me open and cut the tubes. He actually cut about a 1" long section out of the tubes, and showed each one of them to me right after doing it, then burned the ends shut. The process was mostly painless, and I had minimal pain afterwards. I sat on the couch with ice on my scrotum for the rest of the day after the surgery, and again the day after the surgery. I returned to work the following day after that. My scrotum did turn black and blue and swell up a bit.

I thought it was a breeze. The first night was awesome, between the valium and bud light I felt great and slept fantastic. :rolf: Another plus is the wife can't nag you for jack especially right after its done. Live it up, you're doing it for her, she'll abide. I made her take the sample in too. ;D

Lay low and keep the boys cool for 1-2 days. I would honestly refrain from high levels of activity or lifting for 3-5 days. It'll take a few weeks till it feels "normal" again. If it starts to hurt, get your doc to write you a script for antibiotics, don't F around, DO IT!

Doctor told me no lifting or excercising for at least 7 days. I workout every day, so was dreading not being able to, but discomfort from the swelling kind of killed any desire to go to the gym for the first 5-6 days. Also no sex or whacking off for at least 7 days.

I got mine done in 2002 after unplanned kid #2. Wife was seriously pissed about me getting it done because she wanted more kids that I wasn't mature enough for nor could I support (I was only 23). Shaved my junk, and went in and had it done on a Monday morning. The entire procedure was painless, but you do feel a ton of pressure (like someone gently squeezing your balls in a vice) and then the smell of flesh burning then its over. My wife was so pissed I had it done she punched me in the balls when she got home from work that night. The next day I felt fine and went and did some moto's on my dirtbike.. Other than my balls being tender when sitting on the seat, it didn't really bother me at all. I felt good enough to drive to Atlanta the next day (8hrs) and try to qualify for the Atlanta supercross that weekend. Fast forward to Friday press day practice, and I seat bounced and cased the 3rd jump of a quad (same jump Kevin Windham broke his femur on the next day) and when I when my balls collided with the seat I seriously thought I would die the pain was so bad.. Within an hour my balls were the size of grapefruit and later turned a nice shade of black and blue that lasted about 2 weeks. The wife never noticed as she was so pissed she cut me off for almost 3 months

I can't believe you tried to race days after having the V. That is crazy, and I guess a bad idea as you found out, LOL! I was there in Atlanta for the SX that year! I was standing in the pits when KW left to go out for practice. I little while later my buddy noticed KW didn't come back to the pits after practice. We found out later that he had broken his leg. He laid out from racing for a while after that, maybe 1-2 yrs? I haven't been to ATL for the SX in about 8 yrs. I used to go every year. I never miss a race on TV though. I can't believe Reed got blag flagged last weekend at A2.

Mine was bad-ish. Most of my friends went to a specialist and it was painless. Most said the worst part was the pain killer needle. Bull ****ing ****. That tickled.
I'm stupid, no research, on a whim, called my normal doctor, small town guy, wears cowboy boots, rides horses, also is a doctor sometimes. He says hell, come in tomorrow, we'll just cut you.
Go in, wife pissed, lay down, numbs me. No biggie. Then he says, "its going to feel like I really got ahold of you here". He had to have put a vice grip on my ****ing nut. strongest pain I've had from my balls ever. Holy ****. after that was done, I was sweating out of my ass crack from the pain and severe tensing up. Then it hit me. He has to do the other side and I know what's coming this time. It was bad. I was in pain, wearing a jock strap for months. Any movement and it was nut tap time.
Now all my buddies that are less impetuous than me called a specialist, went for a consult, planned it, whatever. I'm a dumbass, don't be a dumbass. Go to a snip doctor that someone you konw has used. All of them still swear the shot is the worst part. Kudos to them ****ers, I'm jealous. All of them got a valium for beforehand from the doc and were all chilled out when they went in, easy peasy

Use a Dr that has does them daily/regularly with good recommendations from others. You won't be disappointed. Either get a jock strap or whity eighties at least 1 size smaller than you would normally wear. Keeps the nut tap feeling to a minimal. You may be happy with the size of you balls from swelling but it does go away and was not painful, uncomfortable but not painful. Keeping everything close and "cool" helps a lot.

I paid 750 cash. No ins.

I think most insurance companies consider that an "elective surgery" and wouldn't cover it anyway. That's why I ask. I have Cigna and it is considered elective / not covered.

Re: Vasectomy

Mine was 100% covered. Cheaper than covering a pregnancy, much less a baby.

Same here, would have been $1200 if I ran it through the insurance as our deductible wasn't met.

$300-400 total, that was finished meeting deductible and 20% of cost after insurance.
