What did I do??? Transmission Output

So, I needed to shorten the length of the transmission output shaft. I grabbed a cut off wheel and went at it. I might have shaved off a little more than I wanted. I have about 1.5" of spline length on the 27 spline shaft out of the 700r4. I am confident that 90% of this is engaged with the 231 doubler. Should this be enough spline engagement?

pretty much that full 1.5" is engaged into the doubler

when I look at it, it doesn't seem like there is a lot to get it running. May need some help with some welding. We'll see if snowboarding gets in the way.
