So here's the short. Got a 6.0 in a buggy. Initially runs 240 period. Drill the thermostat and fill through the upper radiator hose now runs 220 on a day below 75 and 230-240 on anything above doesn't matter how hot.

Steam ports are plumbed properly. Heater core ports are capped.

Is there an air bubble?
Or is the oil cooler over the top half of the radiator and winch I front of the lower 1/3 that is very close to the radiator causing too much restriction in air flow?

Radiator is a dual pass. Motor has a cam. Fan is a large Efan from a Lincoln. It's the size of the radiator and is set to pull. And seems to pull a lot of air. Kinda like the old Taurus fans

I have heard their good and need to get one. But can't figure out how it keeps bubbles out? We used s funnel with two people keeping s constant flow in.

Thanks in advance for the education.

Because there is still air in it when the fluid starts expanding and you have to put the radiator cap on to keep it from running over. The funnel gives that liquid somewhere to go.

Undo the front steam port and let it run till it has a constant stream of water coming out. Then your system is air free. Then, cap it off or plumb it back however you had it to begin with.
