I'm using the one from Google. Just goto Google.com and type in speed test.

I know a few folks on here do the streaming thing so I'm curios what your speeds are and the results your getting.

After messing with router settings / placement and other little tips and tricks I've googled plus a recent free modem upgrade I'm at this:

Mine is 1/10 of yours tony.. 6.7mbps dl

But I live in the damn woods and have the slowest connection the phone company sells.

They ran fiber to my house last year so I got a bump, the lowest speed they previously sold was 1mbps... :****:

You may need to run the test a few times for an average / toss out a high and a low.

Forgot about the sticks-livers. Working 3rd shift I like immediate access to movies / sitcoms / youtubing.

I get porn like " right tha f@#%now " compared to my college days with dial up waiting for just a damn whore pic to load.. :cougar:

Mine "acts" faster than it tests, more stable I guess?. We can have 2 tvs streaming in HD and YouTube on an iPad and it'll just keep going.

I never have to wait for anything to buffer at 720.

Not sure what's up with at and don't care enough to ask "don't look a gift horse in the mouth"

So I'm not a high tech guru by any means so I got a couple questions on this.

I did the test sitting in my kitchen and came out with just a little over 5. Walked into the room where the router is and got around 14. Now my son is also in the basement using Netflix. I'm guessing his use is slowing down the test some? And are there boosters that can be bought to boost the range or how does that work? Should I move the router to a more central location? Right now its in a room on the corner of the house and in a low location in the room. We have a long house too.

We have Charter cable so I assume it should be decent and live on the outskirts of town so we are no where near far out.

Edit: 18 and 5.4 with nothing else running and next to router

Well alright this seems to be pretty good then. I was thinking everyone on here it would blow me away.

I guess I should learn to be more patient.
