Zach Brown's Scout Power Steering install

Ive been helping Labronn out at CSC Fab on the side. A local guy from my hometown works for Zach Brown and asked if we would put power steering on his Scout.
After searching for kits and custom parts, we decided to use a kit from scoutparts.com. It was suposed to be a bolt on kit, but it never turns out to be just a bolt on kit.
I went to his farm in Peachtree City to pick it up. Its a 66 Half Cab truck with a 80-90 horse 4cyl.

I started dis-assembly Tueasday
This is what someone used for steering...
It looks like a manual rack for a small hot rod or something

With the old steering rack out and the column removed, its time to put on the new parts

4 inches had to be cut out of the steering coliumn and rod

All welded back up and painted

Most of it is all put back together, I will post completed pics next week

He has an awsome place, you would never know a singer lives there. The house isnt like some rappers house you would expect to see on cribs. I was watching his hunting show a few weeks ago, and they filmed part of it at his house.

My first 'wheeler, and P's first vehicle (four wheeled vehicle anyway. ) Bought it for $75 and several thousand later it was a pretty cool little truck. Screamin' 152 inch four banger, ran about 50MPH tops, but it was like an old Jeep, pretty much unstopable. I'll bet if the old girl could talk she'd tell a story or two on P ;D

It gets used to haul tubes back up river after floating down, not really a show piece. Even though its a lil rough around the edges it would still be a cool truck to own. This thing was really hard to steer and his wife had a hard time driving it so that the reason for the upgrade. It also has a/c...

it will happen. i like your buggy. labron did a good job. roush-yates sent me picks of the motor a few weeks ago. its getting dynoed this coming week. and should be on the truck here. so we are about to start getting parts.

yeah, this is def not one of the show pieces. its super ugly. but it was part of a trade, and it runs great, besides being a 4 banger. but like leremy said its just gonna be a float hauler at the river, its not going to see any action.. we got some other toys for that.
