9K winches

So I am finally getting a chance to sit back and compile a list.

Now this will be going in my new rig so width is a concern and why I want a non integrated solenoid pack. I won't know the width I have to play with for a couple weeks but I figured I would get a list compiled.

Specs on the ones I have researched with length and speed (unloaded per min)

9.0rc 16.8" 32
9.5xp 22.7" 37.5
9000m 21.8" 38
XD9000 21.8" 38
95xp 22.7" 37.5
XD9000I 21.8" 38

The warn 9.0rc is a nice unit but I really want something that can fit more than 50' of rope.

A standard width M8000 drum is a direct swap on a 9.0RC. I swapped mine and have a full width 9.0rc up front, and a comp width m8000 in back.

When you have skills you don't need a winch.:fawkdancesmiley:

Or when it stays in the garage:fawkdancesmiley:

Seriously though, I put a runva 9.5 short drum in a buggy, and it's interchange part numbers are exactly the same as a warn 9.0 rc. He's used it for 1.5 years and no issues, along with a fraction of the price.

I have three winches an 8274, a 9.5ti and the old standard m8000. The 8274 and the 9.5 are about the same speed, 8k notso much, I just use it on the rear of my LJ. I would look at used warns, the mechanicals have a lifetime warranty. I have not ever bought a new winch and have 3 I would trust no matter what. You do need to watch the 9.5's, early ones the motors were not sealed and the motors corrode.
