How wide are you

I have no problems with a wheel size limit, how about 20"s, but how about no limit on tire size:awesomework:

Oh yeh 86" front and 84" rear on 104 wheel base

Who, on the planning committee, will be representing the modern tube type wheeler?

What kind of width number will be recomended?
I'm there for ya. that is why I am gathering the data here. I am fighting that it isn't the width of the rig, But more the drivers respect of the environment as Crash stated and trail design. If a buggy and full size rigs design the trails then they will fit without damaging eather the environmet or their rig

Are you confident that you can sell the DNR on a design philosophy vs. a width number?

My fear is that my rig will be excluded from Reiter with a width rule.

about 3of every 5 times i go to reiter i see triels guys out there playing around. they must like it, not to mention the techinical aspect of an ever changing 4X4 trail is a blast when on a bike.:awesomework:

lol i have a few double hooked straps, but mine are 12k-lb test flatbed semi anchor straps...:haha:

Charlie, I really don't think the bikes are going to like the "you guys have some singletrack already" aproach or the "you might get a deal worked out at Sultin Basin eventually" approach....
Didn't say that did I
Don't put words into my mouth
I did say that there will be a lot more multi user trails that are for all users.

Hopefully you have been watching the Thumpertalk thread, as they are worked up pretty fierce.
Please post the links here to the threads that they are all worked up. It looks like they are having the same conversation that we are

I'm Sorry, It was someone else saying that they already have Singletrack trails. I just think it is going to be a hard sell for multi-user trails to the Bike crowd. I hope that I am wrong however! We just have to keep in mind that a multi-user trail to a Bike is like a Green Dot Road to a Buggy. We can't expect to make challenging 4X4 trails to keep all of us happy while giving the Bikes a lame trail. I guess that is the point I hope to make with this.

Sounds like you are a biker first and a wheeler second and are unwilling to accept the fact that we all have to give to make this work

Agian I ask for the link to all of this talk that is recent and not two or three days old

god dammit those are such a waste of a perfectly good car and time... every time i see one i laugh and swerve at it...

****ing faggots..

:rant off:

Sorry my intention is NOT to
:stirpot:. As Crazy mentioned Thumpertalk has been down for the last 2 days or I would have a link for you. I'm posting this from my Crackberry or I would check to see if the one Crazy posted is the one I'm talking about. As for the comment about being a Biker first as if my concerns aren't valid just the same....well I don't consider myself as ONE thing first as I'm passionate about ALL of my toys and want to be able to use them ALL. I just see a lot of talk about our sport being catered to here and not much as to what we will be doing to help the others except that they will have to use the same trails. I guess I'm as welcome here having a Dirtbike as I'm welcome on Thumpertalk having a 4X4. :kissmybutt:

Everyone is just going to have to go with the flow right now
Education is the most important thing we can do till DNR has the meetings and more info is relieved. Staying positive and coming up with ideas to solve the issues that are brought forward is the way that we all need to think. If we have answers for the problems that DNR brings to us is better than whining about what people are thinking without any information. This is why this thread was started. I didn

Nobody riding a bike wants to ride a 4x4 trail, it blows. Bike guys will build their own trails, their easy to hide.

That may be true for the trials guys but I see a LOT of bikes on the "jeep" trails. They seem to like them because they can go faster on them then "their" trails. Plus the wider trails give them more lines to use.

thats only the "nerdy, I finnanced a bike and want to top it out" kinda bike owner.

The ones who are into hardcore trilriding want a skinny single track with no mudholes.

Not always i like single track but enjoy getting to jump on the throttle and go too some of the wheeling trailes are fun to ride( and i have never finnaced a bike) and if you have ever ridding a bikeor owned one i bet the first or second ride on it you topped it out.. or tryed!!

And they should not have to. I don't ride a bike, I never want to ride a bike and I think bike guys need there own trials.
I do also but untill we see a design of what a multi use trail is, Do we have the right to knock it

Maybe I need to explain it more or in a different way. It would be more like a multi use corridor. Where there is a base trail for the trucks and off shoot trails for the bikes and then another one for the quads. As for the trucks there would be a line that has a greater line of difficulty. I will see I can draw up an example of what I am talking about and post it tonight. I think once people see the concept, they will like it. Always remember we can always change and improve things in the future

I am not nure how tahulya(sp) is setup but walker is a prime example of how I think it should be done(not speaking in difficult levels) as for trail layout. But right now--there is only speculation and nothing more..
