I'll be leaving the politics up to the ORV leaders. I just want a local place to wheel.......I understand what might happen to the monies. I really don't care, as long we have a place to wheel.

I already pay a couple hundred dollars per yer. But that money is being mismanaged by our government.

But $10 per day would be fair to wheel at a ORV area with trails that would challenge my vehicle and driving ability. No dumb 31" open/open "trails".

If we pay per day, will the .22 per gallon gas tax be dropped?

Aside from all the BS analogies of "I'm aleady paying a fee" and, the "they dun stoled ur NOVA funds"........I'd be willing pay a premium to have a local "closed circut" wheeling area.

Pay to play......is A-Ok.:awesomework:

You're sorta on the right track here... I guess people have different thoughts when paying a government fee vs a private entity fee. My guess is that people are willing to pay more for private entity. Is that true?

I would pay. I buy a pass just for the once or twice a year that I go to Evans, But I always buy a yearly since it's really not that much (imo).

I have always been amazed that with I beleive most State campgrounds charging to camp, Yet Tahuya has been free for Spillman & Kamenga. :eeek:

Why has DNR been blind to the potential revenue from there? They went to a reservation only system a year ago to keep away the people thrashing them. But they still didn't charge. Then they went back to just being open and a mess. I got plenty of Kamenga camp stories that wouldn't have happened if it wasn't free. Like 30 highschool kids with bumping Civics :looser: probably wouldn't have partying there if it cost them.

Its simple. The last 3 lands commissioners all agreed one thing that public land is owned by the taxpayers and therefore already paid for. There's also the idea of increased liability when you start charging for use as well as a entire new bureaucracy to deal with the funding issues.

Yes I would pay and the more the better. $250 year is nothing compared to what I pay to wheel in a year. The more it cost the more of the bad people I think it may keep away. Also with a big fat budget they could pay for more enforcement....There's always the problem with the state possibly stealing the money so maybe the law could be written so one specific person is accountable for this fund. This way when the money is stolen you would have a door to go visit and "talk" about the problem.

I'd pay...I agree with binder, maybe the fee would help to discourage the rogue vigilantes...not to mention provide funding for enforcement. Also agree the fee would need to be protected from allocation by another entity....

I'm all for paying a fee, but gawd damn, why start at $15 a day? :eeek: It should be just like an Evans pass, $5 a day or a year for $30. :awesomework:

Hi All:

I would pay a user-fee but I think the figures listed in the poll are too high for the typical user.

So, with what "Pokey" posted in mind, perhaps it should be something other than a "user" fee to help fund maintenance and development at Reiter Foothills? Like, maybe a "vehicle" fee or a "parking" fee??

There is no doubt that new, dedicated funding sources need to be developed for ORV recreation, since Olympia can't be trusted to leave existing funds alone.

Regards,

Alan

I would be willing to pay a fee if it would be guaranteed that it would go to what it was intended for and Gregoire could in no way get her hands on it.......AGAIN

Like it was mentioned earlier about boat launches, you just have to pay some dude min wage to sit up there and man the gate, I pay $13 everytime I launch the boat, and that's 2-3 times a week when the salmon are running. What's the rate to go skiing for the day? $25 a day would be cheap to go wheeling in a good area.

Exactly. If we weed out the broke non paying tweekers, dump runners, and scum bummers, reiter would be a better place.

But what the hell would i know, i havent been to reiter in over a year. :haha:

I really like the idea of an ORV tag, hell, i already pay $30 a year for my snowmobile tags, that ensures that i have snowparks plowed, and trails groomed along with bathrooms. why not do the same thing with all ORV's?

You'll never keep these kinds of people out:haha:.....people that don't give a F about dumpin', tweekin', etc. , well, don't give an F about some "pass"....

I pay a user fee already. The problem is the state stole our user fee fund. All $9.5 million of it.

Restore Nova and DNR would have the funds required to maintain current levels of recreation. Continued Nova funds could be granted for new facilities.

Give the state management of a new user fee and watch it get stolen!!
