If any of them come over here, we better put them into some sort of containment facilities :corn:How long do you think it will be before they stop letting people travel out of Japan due to fear of spreading radiation?...:corn:

Ya this story is minute by minute.
The bad part is it's getting really really messed up minute by minute......
That is worst case scenario........and it's happening !!!!!!
Meaning the spent fuel is about to or already has blown up. Depending on winds this could be bad for us. California produces a lot of U.S. food. We don't need a cloud of Radiaton coming over here.
:booo::booo::booo:
I googled for cost of nuclear, and that's what I got. You sure it's hippie drivel? Got a counter point? What are you doing reading that hippie drivel?

MIT is full of hippie nerds :flipoff:Here is a blurb on the problem in Japan from a panel at MIT, they probably know a little on the subject.

Isn't hippie & nerd kinda contradictory? Like military intellegence & NWWheeler speller.MIT is full of hippie nerds :flipoff:
I don't think so... Why would it be?Isn't hippie & nerd kinda contradictory?

I just read the words. I didn't make any attempt to verify anything said.No.:booo: I just think it reads very one sided and was first published in a hippie freak journal so I'm sure that's how it was intended to read.
Probly without a government mandate even. :booo:They probably drive a prius too :booo:
Won't happen, I heard an interview with the Nuclear Professor from MIT last night, he said at Chernobyl the radiation was pushed something like 600 miles, California is something like 5500 miles, also, He said that nothing like that could happen to US reactors because of the safety redundancies that are built in to it.

I just thought it was kind of a universal truth, even among dirty hippies, that nuclear power is cheap (that being really its only virtue), so anything that refutes that idea was unexpected, regardless the source.

Anyone have a Geiger counter?
:redneck:
yes, but no you cant borrow it.
Oooh Ooh Daily updates please........
Ok who can find a website with sensitive enough meters to keep track of our exposure over the next couple weeks?
You know the US govment will be keepin track, but will they publish the information?
We are going to see radiation. low levels, and they won't effect us much in the near future, who knows about the long term effects to us from this disaster.
This one event isn't really a big deal for us here, true.
It's about the cumulative effect of Chyrnobyl, Fukushima, Hanford, Three mile island, Deepwater Horizon, Exxon Valdez, PCB's, etc, etc.
At what point does the last piece of straw fall?
I'm not a greenie, not even close but come on !!!! Humans are stupid.
