    Footwear

Wear some kind of leather hiking boot or a mid-top "trail shoe". Full-on combat boots or work boots can get heavy. Athletic shoes aren't quite beefy enough. Skip sandals--there's lots of sand and stuff to poke your feet! The desert is mean to forest/mountain peeps like us! :redneck: Larry...

ORV registration for WA residents in CA

Pook, I had one of the CA ones...bought it from a retailer in AZ last year. $30 tag with a $24 handling/shipping fee. Hahaha ...the thread on PBB said they were a lot less available these days. :eeek: I got my rig permanently registered (license plate, but it's not fully street legal yet)...

    Knuckle scale puller

You may not want them split exactly evenly. If you're running Marlin's heavy inner axle seals, and put the spindle on, you will see if the longfield/birfield actually rides centered in the spindle. You may actually want to move some more shims to top or bottom.

    I have a 1989 body,computer and harness on my 4runner with a 1985 motor and frame.

The Pirate 22R to 22RE conversion FAQ is a wealth of wiring information. Check there first: http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=316661 It helped me a ton putting a stripped 95 harness on a 91 motor in my FToy which never had a harness to start with.

    4:10 or 3:55's ????????

Yeah, what Fordzuki said... ...but two of my friends had TJ's with stock gears (3.55's or 3.73's??); one a '00 TJ with a 5-speed, the other a TJ Rubicon with an auto. They both went to 4.88's (which calc's a bit deep) while still running 33's and really liked that ratio. They both later went...

    Synthetic winch line?

Good to know.. ...I was quoted ~$1.40/ft for 3/8" Amsteel Blue from Redden Marine in Bellingham. Do you think 5/16" is strong enough/enough "extra" strength/thickness for offroad use?
