Hard mounted transfer case? (Page 2 or 3)

yes the transfer/tranny and engine are mounted solid and the frame is 4x4 3/8 wall box tube with some 3x3 3/8 wall as well. the body is solid mounted also. I got tired of everthing moving around, it rips everything up too quickly. exhaust is also hard mounted (no more riped hangers).:awesomework:

Hey Brad your truck looks sick. This is what the rear needs.. It would be even better man.. Doved bed sided with a working tailgate. It might take you an hour to weld on or even better clip on two 67-72 chevy bedsides. It would look killer. If you don't do it I might find some and sneek down there and put them on while you are drunk new years.:redneck: http://nw-wheelers.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=15404&stc=1&d=1198782652

That rig is cool and Brad if you tuck those bedsides in enough they should never get beat up. Or frame the back of them with a tube bed tight to the metal with lots of bracing that way if it does get hit it will not dent. Then custom cut some leds in to the back for taillights with a nice rear bumper that will protect some of the tailgate. Hell with how tall that thing is the back shouldn't hit anything.

Ive gone through alot of sheet metal on this truck over the last ten years. its not built for any fashion awards. just cheap junk.

I got my traction bars finnished today aswell as the headlights too.

I used a pair of old toyota lift shackles for mounting tabs and bolts. I cut the shackles in half and welded them to the rear and front housings just under the diffs. then welded the other two halves to the the tranny crossmembers. this helped me avoid drilling big holes and helped use up some shop junk. the traction bars are made from 2x2 3/8 wall with toyota (used) spring bushings. every part was made from old junk.
